Auto Glass

As I was leaving for work this morning, I discovered that the passenger window of my brand new car was broken into and shattered into a zillion pieces. I had an important meeting that I had to attend so I googled "mobile auto window replacement" and these guys were at the top of the list. My insurance company initially referred me to another place, however, the soonest they could get someone out was next Monday (today is Tuesday)! When I called Power Auto Glass, they told me they could get someone over to my office by 11:30am. Sure enough, the awesome guy showed up on time, told me he would be done in an hour and guess what?!? He was actually done in an hour! To my surprise, he also had a shop vac with him and cleaned up all the broken glass that was inside. I wasn't expecting that. They guy was also very friends and extremely professional. I was expecting to pay a higher rate with that fast of a service, however, the cost was the same as the other place that couldn't see me until next week. I hope my car doesn't get broken into again, but if it does, I will be calling these guys again and also referring anyone who needs a new window.

As expected every few years or so, my car window got smashed late on Saturday afternoon parked in Uptown Oakland, even though nothing of value was in the car. Luckily, Auto Glass was open on Sunday, had the appropriate window in stock, and quoted a very fair price for the full replacement. I dropped my car off at lunchtime and my window was replaced less than an hour and a half later. They even cleaned off the tiny bits of window shards that I hadn't had a chance to vacuum away. I very much appreciated the straightforward, no-nonsense, great work and service, and I strongly recommend Auto Glass to anyone in SF whose turn it is to pay the broken window tax.

Truly the kindest and best auto experience I’ve ever had. I call on a Sunday night when my car had been broken into, and I was desperate to get if fixed so I didn’t have to leave it Street parked like that over night and miss work in the morning. The person I spoke to on the phone was so helpful and so I got there as quickly as I could and he still got if fixed at 7pm in only 40 minutes and better yet was less expensive than the quote my insurance gave me to fix it 3 days later.

My window got replaced but they were $100 more than other places. But they were open when I needed(the only reason to go there, and why they got the second star) they did a poor job removing the broken glass from the car. There were large pieces of glass all over. A 2 min sweep with a vacuum and a rag could have done better. They also lost a peice of the door trim and denied it. Stating that it was never there. They came to fix my broken window and ended up DAMAGING my car by leaving scratches on my brand new Mercedes. I am heartbroken. The scratches happened when the worker was attempting to remove glue stain and debris around the window with a cloth. The owner Jacky Fong apologized and insisted in taking responsibility for this through a phone call. I was angry but thought he deserved a chance to make up for his mistake. Unfortunately when I wrote him in email restating his repair plan, he did NOT respond. He has been ignoring my emails and is refusing to respond in writing. I guess this is his way of handling business. Extremely shady and irresponsible. Very frustrated right now because the estimate for fixing these scratches are about $2700. (Almost 7 times the cost of the window repair) The strange thing is he would not send me the invoice for the window installation. Maybe he wants to pretend that he never fixed my car... I am having a horrible experience because of Power Auto Glass even after someone broke into my car and is hoping that my insurance can help me.. I hope that my review could prevent anyone else from having this type of experience. Please beware.

Friend from out of state had a broken window and needed a repair to drive back out of state same day. Auto glass clearly stated they had it in stock. so my friend went directly to them to find out that they really didn't have it. Be careful when they say can do it same day and have it in stock. Auto glass charged 350$. Thankfully because they did not have the glass another shop took care of the issue for only 220$ that same day. Beware...
