I had to find a different glass shop today because they refused to work on my husband's vehicle. The reason they refused is because there are some warning lights on the dash. They said they can't work on it until the lights are cleared. The problem is that I have taken the car to the dealership, as well as other mechanics, and nobody can find anything wrong with it. My husband and I have taken it multiple places to try to find out what the issue is and get it fixed, but nobody has been able to find an issue, so the lights are still on. I told him I genuinely don't know where else to take it to have it looked at to have the codes clear because I have exhausted all of my options locally, as well as in another city. I explained that this issue has gone on for 6 months, and nobody has been able to identify the issue, so if their requirement is that the code is cleared, it's not a quick thing where I can just go get it fixed and come back in a week or two. Since nobody has managed to find whatever is causing the codes in the last 6 months, I don't know if I can even get it fixed this year. I'm still trying to find new people to look into whatever the issue may be, but in the meantime, the dealership (and others) have told us it is safe to drive since they found no issues. We do, however, need an intact windshield because being blinded by the sun shining off of the crack in the glass is actually dangerous versus a random code that has been checked out by multiple mechanics with no issue found so far. I called a different shop and explained my situation, including the issue with the code and why Safelite refused to help me. They spoke to their manager to check if they could work on it. Because we have had it checked by the dealership and multiple other people and haven't been able to get it resolved, they said they would help. I'm really disappointed in Safelite. At least i was easy to find a different shop to help us since Safelite refused to. Edited to add in response to Safelite's comment: As stated in my original review, I had already taken the vehicle to the dealership. They were unable to find an issue and they were unable to clear the codes. I explained that already, multiple times. Frankly, not being able to see out of the windshield is a bigger safety issue than a code that even the dealership can't identify or resolve. My review was completely honest. I acknowledged that there were warning lights. And I explained to the employees that I had tried multiple times to have the car looked at by both the dealership and other mechanics, and none of them have found an issue. If it were something they could identify and fix, I would have had them do that already. Again, luckily there was a different glass shop in town that was able to help me, and they did a fantastic job!

Safelite replaced my broken windshield here in Lubbock Texas. They did an outstanding job in regards to the fit, form and placement of the new glass and surrounding trim. However, they scratched the hood of my car during the glass install. I was instructed not to wash my vehicle for several days to give the sealant time to dry. Upon washing, I immediately noticed the scratches. I took my vehicle back to Safelite and the on-duty tech acknowledged the fresh damage and stated that he would have the store manager contact me. I waited a couple of weeks and never heard from the manager. I emailed their corporate office advising them of the problem and they too failed to respond. I was deeply disappointed with their failure to take responsibility for the damage they caused. I am currently disputing a portion of the credit card payment in order to have my vehicle repaired. I cannot dispute the quality of their workmanship but, if they damage your vehicle in the process, don't expect them to take responsibility for the damage they caused.NegativeResponsiveness

I've been a faithful Safelite customer for years, but unfortunately I can no longer stand the awful and expensive customer service here. I came initially, one minute late for my appointment, so the desk manager made me come back 3 hours later. 30 minutes into that second appointment, I was told the windshield they ordered was damaged and I would need to come back for a third appointment. At the third appointment, again after 30 minutes, I was again told that the windshield they had was damaged and I would need to come back a 4th time. At this point I gave up and called another glass shop, who was able to fix my windshield the next day for half the price. At no point did the desk manager attempt to make it right with me or help me get my windshield fixed. There are 20+ other glass shops in Lubbock. Don't bother with Safelite.

Overall experience at Safelite in Lubbock is great. I had a cracked windshield from side to side from a hail storm. I got my car booked in, and only really had to wait one and a half months, which considering the amount of people needing a new windshield is great. I dropped off my car and the lady inside the office was super nice and took care of every intake process. I got text updates through the whole process. The estimated time was 60 to 90 minutes, and it was about 60 minutes. When I came and picked up, they explained everything I needed to do such as not getting a car wash within 48 hours, I paid, and I was down the road! Seamless process, helpful and nice people, fair price for replacement glass.

I had my windshield replaced less than 6 months ago. It got the smallest chip in it, probably smaller than 1cm. I didn't even notice it. Well it cracked into an 8in crack. I just think the windshield should have held up better than it has. We spent a large amount of money and expected durability. I had a rock chip a lot larger in my last windshield (OEM) that never cracked. I don't think we should have to be replacing the windshield in less than 6 months of having it replaced. I contacted customer support and they were no help; only cover workmanship not the actual low quality products they use. I’ll be having the windshield they installed replaced elsewhere.

Had the technician come and change out the windshield while I was at work. I received constant text updates of who would be arriving and when. He was able to come earlier than scheduled and let me know that. Did a good job setting my expectations of what would be done and how to take care of the windshield afterwards. Even went the extra mile to clean all my windows to go with the new clean windshield. He went above and beyond, excellent customer service, completed quickly, great communication. Victor was amazing! Great service and easy to schedule online!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Most cases you can see someone's character by the way they drive. The Safelite truck VFF 6949 is swerving in and out of traffic, tailgating people on the loop, crossing over solid lanes just to cut someone off, on the access road and i27 and I can go on. I couldn't believe someone could drive like this employee was until I realized I couldn't call safelite and speak to a human being about this if I needed to. Ironically convenient. This all happened at around 9:10a.m. this morning on South loop 289. When he does crash and hurt someone or worse, they cant play dumb and say we didn't know.

Horrible we set up for them to come to our house to replace a windshield and well they “supposedly” called and left a message to reschedule lol never had any miss calls from them. Yeah we got a discount but whoopie do. We needed it for the day we scheduled it for not two days later. And now I pray they do a good job and we aren’t having to replace it 6months or a yr down the road…. No body could explain anything to us either except for they “supposedly” called us! We have two more windshields that needed replaced due to the recent storms but we will be going elsewhere….

⭐ 1-Star Review Horrible service. They try to monopolize the market and force you to follow their rules. They insist you calibrate the vehicle with them, and if you don’t, they refuse to do the job. Totally unfair and unprofessional. My response for your comment: You’re absolutely right — And I have the right to choose where I want to do the calibration of my vehicle. No shop or insurance company can force me to use a specific calibration provider. That’s called steering, and in many states, it’s illegal.

Had the BEST experience with Safelite AutoGlass in Lubbock. They were professional, thorough & it was very easy to set up the appointment to get my windshield replaced after the awful hail storm we had last Thursday. Every other glass place in Lubbock was so booked up because the hail damage was so bad that I still wouldn't have my windshield for several more days. Safelite had me fixed up & back on the road in about 36 hrs. Would recommend them to everyone & use them again if I needed to.
