I had my windshield replaced through Safelite, and it was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. The technician showed up late without any updates or communication. Even worse, the small chip in the glass—smaller than a pea—is still there after the replacement. I expected a new, clean windshield, not one with the same damage I started with. Trying to follow up was just as frustrating. There’s no real customer service line—just an automated system that gets you nowhere. No way to speak to a human or get any meaningful help. Save yourself the headache. I won’t be using Safelite again.

The Safelite agent filed an insurance claim on my insurance for a $75 chip repair even after I had requested them not do so. I even called back twice and reiterated that I would be paying cash for the repair and asked them to please not file a claim with my insurance. I even sat there on the phone for a 3rd time while they supposedly removed all of my insurance information from their system as I had requested. Well…. They did not honor my request and filed a claim without my authorization. I guess they are trying to get paid twice or something? Very shady and I will never do business with them again!

I regret taking the cheap way out for my replacement windshield. My 2024 BMW M440 had a crack and I contacted BMW and they quoted $3200. Safelite quoted $1126 so obviously I took it to Safelite. BIG MISTAKE. I dropped my car off on 7/16/24, and took an uber home. The shop calls me an hour later to tell me that they ordered the wrong windshield and the girl that called me said "I need to get your VIN#" to which I replied "Are you seriously calling me to get my VIN#? You have my car in your shop with the VIN# on the dash." Complete amateur hour. I told them I provided my VIN# when I got the quote online but she claimed she could not locate it. They were able to locate the correct windshield and the had the audacity to call me and tell me I was going to have to pay an additional $99 for their mistake. I made it clear that was not going to happen and she said she would take care of that. Then, when the windshield was installed, they called again and said they were unable to complete the calibration for the camera and sensors so now I have to take my car to BMW for them to do the calibration. Just FYI, BMW charges $300 while Safelite charges $495 for the calibration. When I picked up my car, before I could get both feet out of the uber, I noticed several, deep scratches on the upper bumper above the grill. Then as I walked around my car I noticed many more deep scratches on both the driver and passenger doors as well as the driver front quarter panel. These are all areas in which the installer would be working around my car. There is no possible way that they could not have known the damage they were doing to my BMW and it is obvious to me they were hoping I would not notice and would drive away and go home, noticing them after I left their lot so they could take zero responsibility for the damage they clearly caused. I went into the shop and they knew because at no time did they ever try to deny that they caused the damage. Most likely the entire vehicle will have to be fully repainted, which will significantly lower the value of the car. I have spoken with the area manager (if that is his title) and he assured me that they will take care it but the fact that this happened just blows my mind at how careless and unprofessional these people are. As I drove away, I also noticed that they did not even clean the inside or outside of the windshield as there is still sticky residue in 2 or 3 locations on the outside and finder prints on in the inside. What a complete joke of a company. I did not pay for any of the work and have no intention of doing so unless and until my BMW is completely fixed to my satisfaction. To add to that, a little over 2 weeks ago I spent $2200 to have the car ceramic coated so they are going to have to pay to have that redone as well but that will have to wait for 30-60 days for the paint to cure. Long story short, DO NOT GO TO SAFELITE FOR GLASS REPAIR!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I scheduled a windshield replacement with Safelite, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. On March 17th, a technician named DJ Parker came out to do the repair but quickly realized he had brought the wrong windshield. At that point, he had only removed the mirrors and trim, so we had to reschedule. Later, I noticed that my CarPlay screen had been scratched during the visit. I reached out to Safelite multiple times, and after a lot of effort, I was finally given a manager’s email (Francisco Arias) and asked to send pictures of the damage. After that—nothing. No response, just a continuous runaround over the next several days. The only positive part of this experience was the technician Emilio Macias, who ultimately installed the correct windshield without any issues. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing I can say about this company. Nearly three weeks later, I am still dealing with the same lack of accountability. To make matters worse, the Howard Lane location where I scheduled my service has now closed—something I wish I had known before booking. If you’re considering Safelite, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. And Emilio, if you’re reading this, you deserve to work for a better company!

My windshield was damaged during the May 28,2025 severe storm in Austin Texas by trees. My property insurance wouldn't cover it (car damaged on my property) and I only had the minimum coverage on the car since it's an old vehicle. I was saving money to get it fixed overtime. Recently, I was surfing 🏄‍♂️ the internet and came across their website with a promotion code. It was a blessing in disguise so I jumped to the opportunity 🙏. I used the afterpay app through cashapp(normally I don't do this) to get the windshield fixed so I can have transportation to work. I dnt regret it! I was able to schedule online and they came at the schedule time keeping the doors of communication open. They completed as promised. The technician was professional, kind , and friendly while he worked through the Texas heat outside (don't worry, I made sure he had plenty of cold bottles of water 💧). I am satisfied with the services and will get them to replace my other vehicle windshield . Thank you Safelite AutoGlass for being there for me!

Showed up at original scheduled date with the wrong window, I was told someone would reach out to rectify the situation but nobody did, I tried calling twice, 24 hours later and nobody answered. Eventually I simply received a prompt to reschedule without so much as an explanation. Nevertheless, I tried to maintain a positive outlook when the tech showed up with the new window. When the work was done I went to inspect it only to see that it didn't have a matching tint so it doesn't look very appealing and will have to get it replaced somewhere else very soon. I was automatically charged a recycling fee that I figured meant the tech would be collecting and disposing the broken glass that remained but he did not, again, something I'm going to have to just pay someone else to take care of since I can't just have broken glass everywhere that my children can reach. Overall, this was my first and last time using this service, I'm going to go back to local business since they seem to actually care about the business they reschedule.

They did a okay job by replacing my Honda pilot windshield. This was an after market glass and it was brighter than the OEM, which was tinted a bit. Technician cleaned the vehicle and the glass after the job is finished, but I still saw suction cups mark on the glass and molding debris on the dash board and on the seats. The rubber trim around the glass was jot uniform as you can see from the picture it left a gap at cowl. Tried to contacted the technician as soon as I left it no reply. After searching I found it is but a big deal. Also Safelite is more expensive than competitors in the area. Overall okay job, nothing major issues, yet to wait to see how they will handle any warranty if I needed in it futures

I had my windshield replaced by safelite and the tech that did the replacement also damaged my vehicle while driving it after. I have it on video. I contacted safelite and have spoken with several managers for over 4 months now, they said many times that they would fix the damage. However, here I am 3+ months later and they were only willing to pay for partial repairs leaving me with not only 4 times going to their office with my vehicle, but my own time wasted in their partial efforts. But now they expect me to pay for the rest of the repairs of $1,200, but also more of my time wasted. Never use this company! Plenty of other options out there!

I was a little concerned about taking my car for windshield replace at Safelite AutoGlass after a read a couple bad reviews about them , but I decided to try it and belive the good reviews, I'm glad I did , when I arrived, I mentioned to them about my concerns and they patiently responded and clarify all my questions and concerns, when the car was ready, the same technician that took care of my car call me and told me he knew about my concerns but told me to rest assured that I will not have any problems with the new windshield, he even clean all of my windows. I will definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

Had my windshield repaired at a Safelite facility in Austin. Scheduling an appointment at a facility near me was very simple through their website. Based on the description that I entered they quoted me a price at time of booking. The repair cost was very reasonable. Experience at the repair facility was great. Professional and courteous front desk staff. Waiting area was very clean. Repair was done in a timely manner - I was in and out within 50 minutes. Repair performed by Isiah was phenomenal - and better that what I expected. Pictures show before and after.
