Armadillo Auto Glass

I called up Armadillo glass on 2/21/2024 and got appointment set up by Thomas for Thursday, 2/22/24. I was informed it will be 2 hour window at 1PM. Sure enough, I got a prompt call from Greg on 2/22 to let me know he is on his way to my house. I met up with Greg with a long beard like Dusty Hills of the the zz Top. It was sunny and warm that day. Greg started working on the windshield immediately. It is taken Greg about an hour to complete the windshield replacement. The part description is windshield with green tint blue shade (Solar) FW02294GBN and quality urethane. Greg transferred the driver mirror, TX tag, registration sticker and even the oil change sticker to the new windshield perfectly. Greg did an amazingly great job. I totally love what Greg did to my 2004 Honda CRV new windshield. I appreciate Thomas for precise scheduling and answering the phone and to Greg for fantastic workmanship. I am giving a 5-star rating. Thank you Greg.

We called 2 major windshield replacement companies and got very high quotes and were told it would be over 2 weeks before they could do work. My wife was looking online and found Armadillo and not only was the quote much less but also didn’t try to trick us into paying extra for trim. They shocked us when they said we can do it tomorrow!!! The next day the installers showed up on time and were friendly and did a perfect job! I would recommend this company to anyone that needs a windshield replacement those big companies just have fancy advertising that they have to pay for. After calling around to obtain several quotes for replacing a windshield, Armadillo absolutely had the best value! Many of the other companies I called were asking for HUNDREDS more for the same repair job, some of which weren’t even mobile repair shops. When I called Armadillo, Thomas was friendly and helpful in explaining what I needed to look for on my window to ensure he gave me an accurate quote. The communication from Thomas from the time I booked the service til completion was very prompt and thorough. The technician, Greg, was also great to work with. He called to keep me informed on his ETA and was very efficient in getting the job done and giving instruction so I knew how to care for the new window afterward. Excellent! I've decided that the only few days I don't like living in Austin are those during the ROT Rally weekend. And this year the rowdy vibe that comes with the rally brought me an auto break in and a busted car window. After Googling "Austin glass repair" and seeing Armadillo's 5-star review on Yelp (which is rare), I called them first, got a more than fair quote, and immediately decided that Greg was the man for the job. I called him on a Friday afternoon and he came out Saturday morning to fix the window. And not only did he replace my new trash bag window in record breaking time, he also fixed a chip I had in my windshield while he was here. Quick, painless, and friendly service. If I could I would give them 0 stars. My husband called and scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and replace our windshield. On the day of the appointment noone showed up and I did not get a call. I called several times to find out what happened but noone answered and couldn't leave a message because the mailbox was full. But they eventually did call back, they told my husband the windshield they received was damaged and she was surprised that noone called to inform us. The lady said she will find out when we can reschedule and call back. To this day we have still not heard back. My husband called several times and was able to leave a message this time. Noone answered nor returned the call. We have since gone with another company.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Had to share a good experience with a vendor from today, in case anybody ever needs them: Armadillo Auto Glass came to my office in Round Rock and repaired 2 small dings that I got in my work vehicle windshield from a pebble that the truck in front of me kicked up while I was working at the coast this week. No fuss, no muss…he was done in less than 30 minutes AND repaired my employee’s windshield ding for a reduced price because he was already here! He took my credit card with no problem and had a receipt ready to go when he left. I am very impressed. He saved me from having to eventually repair the windshield and was very fast, professional and friendly. I highly recommend this company if you ever need a minor windshield repair.

Greg was a great guy! He did a wonderful job replacing my husband's front windshield on his car. He took all the stickers off the old windshield and put them on the new one. He even put the car alarm port back on the new window as well. He came to us at our home and replaced the glass in 1 hour. He also did great clean up while taking out the old windshield and putting in the new windshield. He was very polite and courteous. He talked to my husband the whole time and still did a beautiful job. I highly recommended him for any window repair that you may need. Great Prices Too! Great Guy! Great Experience!

Some unhappy person decided to smash my passenger window and rummage through my glove compartment. Insurance company suggested I call Safelite. It was Friday morning and rain was projected all weekend and they couldn't fix it until Wednesday. Google happily landed me to Armadillo. Greg immediately answered (right when they opened at 0800) and stated he could get to me that morning! He came when he said he would, was friendly and professional and fixed it in less time than he quoted. Bonus, he was cheaper than Safelite. Will definitely recommend him in the future!

My window was smashed over the weekend so I called around to a few places on Monday. Armadillo's estimate was half of what Safelite's was, had an appointment available the next day as opposed to Safelite which would have taken an extra week, and they were super friendly on the phone. On the day of my appointment they came out to me exactly within the time frame that they provided, Greg fixed it in a little less than 30 minutes, and even vacuumed up the glass. Definitely hope to not have any more smashed windows, but highly recommend this place!

My car window all of a sudden shattered on my way to Austin for a weekend trip. Since I'm not from the area, I found Armadillo just through a Google map search for nearby auto glass repairs. I called and talked to Greg at 4:30pm and the next morning he was at the apartment where I was staying with a new window and had it installed and the glass vacuumed up in a half hour. Given I was just visiting, I was super thankful for his speediness, price, and helpfulness in getting my car back into shape to drive!
