I've had great experiences with Safelite in the past, but today was the opposite. A Safelite tech came to my site to repair a small chip in the windshield. This service cost about $200, when scheduled. The tech arrived on time and was very courteous in telling me that Safelite would need to replace my windshield because he ended up cracking my windshield. He told me I'd have no additional charge and then he left, expeditiously. Within moments I had a prompt from Safelite, telling me that my appointment has been rescheduled for the end of the week, for a windshield replacement... with an additional $300 in charges, on top of the $200 I've already paid. When I called Safelite, they gave me the runaround, stating they couldn't get in contact with the Chattanooga branch manager (manager of the office that destroyed my windshield). This seems like a hustle. I'm a single father and a war veteran, and this my sole vehicle. Now, I have a HUGE crack along the entire length of my windshield. I can't afford an additional $300 repair to fix the original $200 problem that Safelite made worse. Safelite phone reps told me there's a disclaimer about broken glass in an email chain that they sent me... but their customer care team could not produce any emails that were sent to me with any such disclaimer. The Chattanooga manager has not contacted me to make this right. I'm beyond disappointed. Use a competitor. 10 out of 10 don't and won't recommend Safelite, to anyone, ever.

Brought the complete wrong glass TWICE in a row. My order had the correct piece of glass, but they somehow got it wrong two times in a row. Then, "to make it right" Safelite decides to further inconvenience me by changing the appointment to in-person as if they're whole business model doesn't revolve around coming to the customer. I then had to reschedule MYSELF. The worst part is, they did not even show up the third & final time. The shop rescheduled it for in person AGAIN without even notifying me. Can't believe how poorly this business is run. Ten minutes on google and I tracked down the exact part I needed on Volkswagen's official part website. I do not understand why Safelite found it so difficult to locate the correct piece.

This was the first time I've ever needed to replace a windshield and the process was super easy! I had originally chosen to drop off my vehicle at their physical location the next day, but unfortunately the replacement glass didn't arrive in time so they were able to send a technician to my house the next day. Dillon arrived right when he said he would and was done in less than an hour. I walked outside to discuss a few things with him and ended up staying out there for almost the entire time talking😅. I even brought my kids out to watch him put the new windshield on since they had been asking me how it all works. Dillon was wonderful and made fast work of it! I decided to pay out of pocket instead of using insurance as I didn't want my premium to increase and they have several payment options online including Affirm which allows you to break the payment into 4 equal payments over 6 weeks. Definitely a great option for such a large purchase if you don't want/can't throw it on a credit card. The whole process of getting an appointment online was fast and hassle free; very straight to the point without a million questions. They send you texts updating you along the way about how the replacement will work, what technician is coming, when they will arrive, when they've arrived, and when the work is done. If, unfortunately, the need for another windshield ever arises, I'll use Safelite again.

I took my wife’s car for an appointment and it took two hours to install. Seemed a little longer than necessary but I have no basis for how long it should actually take. On her car, we did notice the piece by the rear view mirror was left loose and dangling. Fortunately we were able to pop it back on. Picture attached. My wife got a text stating to not drive it for 10 minutes but this wasn’t communicated to me. But, sitting in the lobby for two hours, I heard some concerning issues. One guy was raising hell about his sunroof repair that was into the third week and the trim around the sunroof was damaged. One lady was back for her third time and the correct part(s) weren’t ordered. I know this because she shared this information with the guy who drove 30 minutes, the second time, only to be told his part(s) weren’t in. I’m still a little befuddled as to why Safelite wouldn’t proactively let these folks know prior to them showing up. Knock on wood but we were lucky there was only the one minor issue but there seemed to be a comedy of errors during the time I was there. Be careful. 12/13/23: Safelite just called to schedule the windshield replacement. SIX days after it was completed.

STAY AWAY!! Horrible customer service, zero professionalism, horrendous workmanship After two weeks, and trying 3 pieces of glass, and horrible communication(basically none) i go to pick up my car and both A pillars and the headliner are damaged and the windshield still wasn't right. Air was pouring into the cabin. Travis the manager didn't seem to care, he initially apologized for the poor communication, but after I discovered all the damage and that the glass still wasn't right he didn't seem to care at all. I shared my frustration with him and he said "well i don't test drive the vehicles so i wouldn't have known about the damage or that it wasn't installed right." And then he walked away from me. Wow, just wow. I'm blown away by how bad this experience has been. Travis gave me his direct number when i originally complained about the lack of communication. It's worthless, he doesn't pick it up when you call it. It just rings and rings. Stay clear of this place! Edit- found more damage. Huge gouges in my dash. 3"x5" and deep. I attached another photo of it.

Technician never showed up, called 30 mins before the end of the a 5hr appointment window and said it might rain (it was not and never did rain) I’m not coming. I asked for a manager to call me after he tried to reschedule another 4 days out. He did this after the store and customer service (CS) closed, I got not call from the manager the next day. I had to call CS the next day to demand a Manager call me, after I got a text message that they rescheduled me 3 days later. Finally a manager called me and said the only way they can help me is if I go to the store and they do it there and they would squeeze me in. I went to the store showed up 30 mins early waited 2.5 hrs for them to do the windshield, they removed my online coupon and tried charging me an additional $44 dollars for coming into the store. I refused and had to show them my original receipt from online for them to remove the additional charge, another 30 mins, so in total this location has waisted 8 hours of my time, and I received not even a were sorry about this from the store or manager.

Left a review a little over a year ago stating how unhappy I was with my service. I had another replacement done on 2.18.25. Jessie definitely made up for the bad experience I had in 2024. He was early to the scheduled appointment, called me when he was on his way, when he arrived and when it was completed. He also had me sit in the car and make sure I didn’t see any issues. He was extremely professional and answered every question I had. He even apologized for the experience I had last year that he had nothing to do with. The inside of my car was left in perfect condition. Couldn’t even tell someone else had been in the car. After speaking with multiple people there I’m 100% convinced that Jessie is the only one that knows what he is doing! I will continue to use Safelite in the future but will only be allowing Jessie to work on my vehicle. He definitely knows what he is doing!

I was as patient as I could possibly be with this location, but after 4 times with them replacing my windshield, and them having a major issue each time, namely the rear view mirror falling off, and causing damage to my vehicle requiring a body shop and losing my vehicle for 2 1/2 weeks, I thought they had finally gotten it right. That was 2 weeks ago, and now my rearview mirror has fallen off for the (3rd? 4th?) time. 2 1/2 MONTHS of trying to get a windshield replaced and get back to normal, the only thing they do. I'm done with them. Waiting 48 hours for Safelite corporate management to get back to me about refunding me so I can go to Volkswagen and have them hopefully do it right with OEM parts. Everyone at the location is nice, but nice only carries you when you can get the job done right.

The tech was very profesional and was not rude. I won’t lie on this review. He showed up on time, called me before arrival and did all that I was advised he would do. The issue I’m having is with the install job itself, the window seems shifted as there is a larger gap on one end. The top of my car got a chip on it. Whatever tool was used to pry the windshield off was leveraged on the car and cause the damage. And now when my windshield wipers are turned on, they bang up against the side of the car. Normally windshield wipers tend to make noise while moving but not to the point that they hit the car, like if they were set to go further out than the actual windshield, causing the loud hit noise. Overall im dissatisfied with the workmanship of the job done.

This Safelite shop in Chattanooga exceeded all expectations. The shop was clean, orderly, and efficient. The technicians obviously had high confidence in their glass replacement skills as the work area was fully visible through a large window in the waiting room. The waiting room had a clean coffee prep area and was comfortable that I was able to do work while sitting there. Jesse did a fantastic job in the front windshield replacement and spent time with me afterwards explaining in detail what to do for the next couple of days to ensure perfect results with the glass. My car looks great, visibility is excellent, and all the automated safety systems work just like factory new. Highly recommend this shop and their staff.
