The Paradigm Shift
First windshield got replaced a week after a crack, seemed good! Realized the cowell was not attatched properly at the bottom of the windshield and water would poor in , plus all the clips were broken off and not replaced. They sent someone out, he thought he fixed it, he also replaced all the broken clips. Then after 2 days i noticed the cowell was popped out again and even worse this time. The generic windshield they were using was to short to sit flush in the clips, so they sent another guy out. He started working on it after asking his boss what the deal was and he told him to go ahead and replace it again. He forgot some tools at the shop had to leave and go get them and come back, after he was done the issue was still the same. The work was bad, i had a chunk taken out of my A pilliar with a knife and all the cowell clips were broken off again and not replaced there was a big gap on my left hand side A pillar, with some other minor comsmetic issues. So he called the master tech, he came out, they figured i needed an OEM windshield instead of the generic one they were using. They ordered one the next day after i went to there apple valley location and they looked my car over. i had to follow up a few times ,i never recieved updates after they said they ordered it. They set an apt to get my windshield to come in but never told me what time it was at, so at 8a.m Sat i recieved a email saying my apt was at 8a.m that day. I called them and told them i had no idea what time the apt was at and that i would miss it plus i had to ask if they even had my windshield yet, which they did. After a week I took my car to the shop. They fixed it and it looks normal again! The trim looks a little wonky in 2 areas but o well the job was finally done. The employees were great to work, Leah, Fenix, and Darius were great and professional / nice ! The quality of work was pretty awful but finally it was completed well by one of their master techs, i dont think the younger guys they send in the mobile units care as much, its more quantity over quality. If i had to do it over again i would try to reach out to a local glass shop. But just because of the employees and the fact that this seems to be finished after about a month long process i give it all in all, 3 stars

Terrible experience. I had a tiny nick that expanded across my windshield due to cold weather. I scheduled the drop off by 9:30am, and I thought alls well. They reminded me that it closed at 5. At 330pm I get a notification that my job had just started. At 4pm still hadn’t heard anything. But it would take me at least 30 minutes to get there, so I headed over. Get there by 430pm and they say “oh your car isn’t done yet, give us 20-30 more minutes”. 6pm rolls around my car is finally done. I’m 2 hours late for my pickup at daycare, I mentioned this to the employees and they just asked if I could call and have them keep it open. Fast forward 2 days. I’m driving from Minnesota to Florida and the passenger plastic part of my windshield flies off on the highway. The car is loud and whistling air is coming through. I pullover to call Safelight. It takes me 15 minutes on hold and 2 dispatchers to get to this location. I explain to the guy that I’m concerned driving through torrential downpours in FL and I can’t get to a location until Monday due to my work schedule. I tell him the zip code of a place as I need an appointment asap in FL. He keeps trying to send me to a place 3 hours from my location. I Google locations and tell him the zip code again plus two other locations. When I ask him to look again, his response was “You aren’t liking the answer I’m giving you, I’ll have my supervisor call you.” And he hung up before I could even ask anything. No one called me back. I called the number back twice before I found someone that could book me an appointment at the place by my current location. I’m booked, but still haven’t received a confirmation.. I came here because of my insurance coverage. I never will be back, and I’ll go out of my way to find a location with kind, efficient and knowledgeable employees.

We scheduled a glass repair through Safelite for today. The available times online were limited so we chose 8am to 12pm. The technician called us to let us know they could be there at 3pm. Fine, we'll make it work. They then asked if it was a chip repair or a replacement? Perhaps this is common knowledge to everyone else, but how am I supposed to know that? We stated that it was probably a replacement. She informed us we signed up for a repair. Honestly, I don't recall doing that but let's say that we did. We offered to take a picture and send it and she said no. When she arrived, she stated that it indeed was a replacement not a repair and that she couldn't do that. We would have to reschedule with a replacement technician. Ok, whatever....that is about the most useless and confusing system I have ever seen. How is it possible that a windshield repair/replacement company is sending out different people for repair vs. replacement? How could that make any sense. And why did she not explain this to us on the phone? Why did she not say that if she shows up and it's a replacement, she won't be able to do the job? How does any of that make sense? Add to that the technician was rude and lacked any social communication skills. The tagline says, Safelite repairs, Safelite replace. Safelite literally did neither and instead wasted my entire day.

Had a chip in the center of your view as the driver of our new vehicle. We have glass coverage so we brought it in to get fixed. Brought it in and 20 minutes later they were finished, fast service, so far so good. Even asked the technician if the chip was gone, he said “yup”. They gave me the keys and off I went. Since it was raining hard and getting dark that day I couldn’t see the chip right away. Pulled into the garage and then I could see it. It didn’t even look like they filled in the chip. If they hadn’t filled in the chip as good as possible they should’ve told me before I left to make sure I was happy. Contacted my insurance and they agreed. The whole windshield needed to be replaced as safelite didn’t fix per per insurance’s request. This company makes its money by pushing customers through as fast as they can. No quality, just quantity. Make sure you don’t leave without making sure 100% that you are satisfied. The picture attached is AFTER the repair.NegativeQuality

Fantastic service, and the quality of their work was great. We had an issue with the first windshield that was installed because it was an aftermarket piece of glass for a Model 3. I didn't think that the quality would be much different, but we went with it because the OE glass wasn't in stock at that time. It had some defects that hadn't been noticed until I drove it home and then some subsequent trips. We took it back in, and they agreed that it was unacceptable and we more than happy to make it right. Fast forward to the new OE glass that was flawless, and their workmanship that made it look like it had never been touched. They did all the camera calibration in shop as well. All the seams and clearances were perfect, and we are so happy with Safelight and their great employees. Also, there was zero hassle with any insurance issues, and they handled everything on that end. I would highly recommend this Apple Valley location.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

If everything goes right. This company does a perfect job. Have used them in the past with no issues. Today’s nightmare is due to the glass installed broke while they were installing. Rescheduled for today because my job doesn’t allow me to be out of office for this “warranty “ repair. Tech confirmed they had the glass when he rescheduled it. Fast forward to this morning, tech doesn’t show up. Got an automated reschedule for Thursday morning. Called Safelite to find out why. “Alex” virtual assistant is no help. Disconnected me seven times. Finally got to a person. They hung up on me while trying to find out what happened. Three more attempts with “Alex”. Got back to another person. When I voiced my frustration, she stated. “So what’s your question?” I explained again and asked if any other Safelite location could help. Was told no. The product is only shipped to this site. When I tried to explain how this wasn’t going to work, she hung up on me.

This has been the worst experience, they had to reschedule because of the cold which I get but then the morning of my rescheduled appointment they call and say I need to come into the shop because it never should have been scheduled as a mobile job but then when I talked to the manager they said it’s because 2 techs called out sick. So they finally decided to come to my house to do it but then I had to reschedule because my hinges were seized on which ok I understand so I ordered new hinges and rescheduled my appointment to today. I get a call stating they had the wrong glass and I will need to reschedule get again…. They also can’t seem to verify my insurance which my claims adjuster has confirmed multiple times that it is covered and my insurance has approved it. I will never use safelite in the future and strongly reccomend nobody else does either.

This was my first time having to get my windshield replaced, so I was nervous about how long it would take and how it would go. Turns out, the process was really smooth, quick and the tech who worked on it - Gary - was fantastic! He replaced my windshield while I was at work which made it easy with such a busy schedule. He called as he pulled into the parking lot, found my car easily, and it only took him about an hour to do. He called once it was done and gave me clear instructions on how to best take care of it. When I got into my car, everything was exactly as it was before - including the little oil change sticker! Great service, easy process, would definitely recommend to others.

Took over 5 weeks to get windshield repaired which insurance was paying for; 5 ap lp I’llointments cancelled. Then day of tech showed up for mobile appt and said either he would have to take my 60,000 SUV to the shop so cameras can be calibrated or I could drive and wait there, he said the shop didn’t have enough tablets. I set up mobile appt for a reason so I couldn’t Also was told had to be done that day. Very poor customer service, lady on phone didn’t understand why I was upset.nothing was offered as compensation and not even a sorry. Will never being going back here again. And I can’t believe they didn’t even care and thought it was no big deal.

Brought my 2011 BMW 335i in for a windshield replacement & did an all day drop. Car was at shop for 8+ hours. Customer service was friendly, but the quality of work was poorly executed. The cowl with other plastic components were not in the correct spot / not installed properly. I had certain parts that were loose & free falling in the engine bay, plastic covers not in the correct spot & electrical components exposed. The seals around the windshield have lifted too. Clearly the technician does not have an ethic of providing quality work. Concerned how this was accepted as the job being finalized. (In the process of getting rectified & money back)
