I’m extremely disappointed with the way Safelite AutoGlass handled my recent windshield replacement in my 2025 Jeep Rubicon. While the installation itself looks good and the technician arrived on time, the lack of pricing transparency was unacceptable—and ultimately cost me over double what I was quoted. The original quote I received was under $500, which I was fine with. I even agreed to add new wipers and a Rain-X treatment. What I didn’t agree to—or even know about—was an additional $475 charge for camera recalibration that was added after the job was complete. Yes, the quote mentioned that recalibration might be needed. But nowhere did it mention any price or how much that would cost—not even an estimate. The installer didn’t bring it up before starting the work either. By the time I saw the final bill, it had jumped to over $1,000. That’s a serious difference—and one that was never disclosed until it was too late. For context: I had my Infiniti’s windshield replaced in 2019 for $219. I understand costs go up, and I expected to pay more for my Jeep in 2025—but not more than double the quoted price with no warning. This feels like bait-and-switch pricing, and it’s frustrating. Safelite should be more transparent and upfront about possible recalibration costs, especially since it’s nearly half the cost of the total bill. Great install or not, this kind of surprise billing destroys trust. I won’t be using Safelite again, and I recommend others demand full pricing—including potential extras—before agreeing to any service.

TLDR Poor quality glass to save fuel! First I want to say the service and installation was quick and of good quality. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the windshield. I had the windshield in my 2017 Terrain replaced do to a crack. Later the same week we had a wind storm with gusts as high as 60mph. I live in Kansas and high winds are pretty much the norm this time of year. The new windshield pitted terribly. I scheduled an appointment for a warranty thinking the windshield should not have been so easily damaged. I was told that it could not be fixed under warranty as it was an act of nature that caused the damage. I questioned the quality of the glass as I was driving my 2004 F-150 the same day and it did not have any windshield damage. The salesman told me that my 20 year old truck had higher quality glass because the new windshield glass was made lighter for fuel savings! I argued the cracked windshield that I had replaced wasn't pitted and reiterate that it was the quality of the replacement glass I was questioning, that the old windshield survived similar if not worse wind storms without pitting damage and no other window glass was damaged on the vehicle. Therefore, it too must have been of higher quality. The salesman again explained that glass manufacturers are using lighter glass than they used in the past and that durability and resistance to impacts was affected. Regardless, he told me there was nothing he could do.

I had a windshield replaced at my home, thinking I was working with a small mobile glass repair guy I found on Facebook Marketplace. Turns out he booked the repair through Safelite under his own name and credit card, and had them come to my address to do the work. I paid the guy directly via Zelle — had no idea Safelite was even involved. Weeks later, I get an invoice from Safelite for almost double what I paid. When I called, they said the scammer's credit card didn't go through, so they looked up who owns the car (me) and decided I’m responsible — even though I never contacted them, never agreed to use their services, and didn’t even know who they were. They admitted this kind of scam happens hundreds of times every month, but instead of investigating or going after the actual person who scheduled the work and gave them the bad credit card, they sent me to collections. Absolutely unacceptable. I had no agreement with Safelite and never signed off on anything. If they know this is a common scam, why aren’t they putting protections in place? Why do the victims end up paying for their lack of verification?

With the recent blizzard we found as we getting ready to take my husband to his medical appointment that our windshield was cracked from one side to the other. After talking to our insurance company we scheduled with Safelite AutoGlass for a repair the next day. That was great! Yet as the weather continued to create an obstacle for safety systems which needed to be recalibrate. We had to reschedule the service two more times. The service was completed and we appreciated the ability to reschedule. Our son took it to the shop and waited while the work was completed. In great time. We are happy to have our car working safely now. We have never had to deal with a damaged windshield before so this was a good experience. I recommend Safelite AutoGlass for repairs.

🌟Safelite Is Alright🌟 I scheduled an appointment to get my Truck in for a windshield replacement as I had a crack going across my drivers side view so after going through my insurance company I was able to get a new windshield installed. The gentleman who installed it came to the lobby and introduced himself at first and said if I had any questions he would be happy to answer. The Safelite employee did an outstanding job and was very careful with my truck as I was very pleased and the job only took 1 1/2 hours to do. I waited in the lobby while it was being done and had coffee to drink and watched TV. "Delicious Coffee by the way"

I was absolutely sick to my stomach when I got my first rock chip in the windshield of my truck. My insurance agent suggested I go through Safelite Auto Glass to have my windshield repaired. This was by far the easiest and convenient and least stressful situation I have ever experienced with auto repair of any and all types of repairs. Michael (technician) came to my house and had my windshield repaired in less than 30 minutes. I got my rock chip on a Thursday afternoon, called my insurance agent on the following Friday and Michael was at my house Saturday morning. Very impressed with Safelite and Michael!!

It would be 5 stars, but you really have to be 100% perfect for me to rate that. I was the techs last stop of the day originally scheduled for 1:30-2:30 arrival. Called around noon and told me he would be at my home closer to 4 pm. I am retired, so that was fine, but if I had scheduled this for working hours, I would have been cooling my jets for 45 minutes. Tech did a good job, cleaned up everything, no leaks and no extra parts, So good in my book. Also, window got broken on a Monday, had it replaced on Tuesday, and I live in the boonies, on a dirt road, not close to their office.

The customer service technician was quick, and knowledgeable on the phone setting up my appointment. Also, the technician who worked on my windshield was polite, trustworthy, quick, and efficient before, during, and after the service. I definitely recommend. Justin, with SafeLite provided excellent friendly and professional service. He called ahead to give us an ETA and how to keep our car cooled in the shade to prevent further damage when he started the repair. Temps outside was 92°. He arrived on time and repaired our chipped windshield in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend Justin and SafeLite. Thank you for coming to our home.
