San Jose Auto Glass Windshield Repair Specialist

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place for windshield repair. When looking to replace the windshield of two of my pickup trucks, I dialed around, and this was the most expensive place. It was also the one where the same gentleman consistently picked up the phone, he was able to give me part numbers that he used, and he talked about what the job entailed. So far, so good. Unfortunately, that's most of what was good. Since I had multiple trucks, I was able to negotiate a price reduction in the range of 20%. That still made this the second-most-expensive place, but I assumed I was thus going to get an excellent job. I was given a two hour window in a few days when a tech would arrive to perform the work (in this operation, the tech shows up where you are, you don't take your vehicle in). The tech showed up 1 hour into the window, and got right to work. I checked on him a few times to see if he needed coffee or water and he declined both times. Work went quickly, he was done just outside of the 2 hour window they'd stated. I immediately noticed that on my 1989 Toyota, the molding around the windshield (which had shrunk with age) has been reused, leaving gaps around the top of the window (see pictures). I asked the tech about this and he said "well, normally I'd change the molding but my work order only said to change the windshield." Huh. Is that what where my 20% discount went? Was it my job, as the customer, to state "I need a new windshield *and* new molding?" I had thought for a 36 year old vehicle, the fact that the OEM molding would shrink would be obvious. Anyhow, I called back to home base about this and was told "don't worry about it, let us know if it leaks." OK, not awe inspiring. I asked the tech before he pulled away and he said "well, I can fill it for you" (presumably with a vulcanizing compound). That wouldn't be aesthetically beautiful but would allay my concerns about water penetration. I said "please" and he said "I have to go to another job, but I'll swing by and fix it." Well, three weeks later, I'm sorry to say that neither did this tech ever come by, nor has home base ever responded to further inquiry about it. I've been ghosted, and am not super-impressed with the quality of the work nor do I have a lot of faith that if I ever need to call-in the "lifetime warranty" that it will be honored or that anyone with any knowledge of this job will acknowledge that a warranty even exists. I give this two stars because they did replace two windshields and they seem to work (not yet tested in the rain, since we don't get rain this time of year). However, I knock down stars for a job that doesn't look well-done, making promises unkept, and ghosting me. Safelite doesn't do a swell job either, but at least you know they're around to honor warranty and they're 55% of the cost. Further to the above, SJ Auto Glass replied to this comment (see below) but unfortunately, their offer to "resolve this matter properly" was disingenuous. I called, had to verbally relay my complaint to the gentleman on the phone, and was told that he would "check with his technician." He texted me 30 minutes later saying "this should be fine, let us know if it leaks." Again, there seems some disconnect here between doing a good job and doing a hopefully adequate job.

I had to replace a windshield and was going to use a repair service my insurance provider listed but didn’t feel like it after checking their review..so I got a quote from another one thru a dealership that offered me an insane amount, which I knew I would not reimburse enough. Luckily I found this local technician with good reviews and gave it a try. They responded me quick and quoted me an affordable price with an OEM part, and despite unstable weather, an experienced technician came by next day, worked on the driveway, and restored the auto glass within a couple hours after sprinkling rain was gone. Very happy with the outcome and appreciated their service! After paying my deductible amount, most of the costs were reimbursed. Thank you so much!

Excellent and quick service at a reasonable price! Had to get my whole rear windshield replaced and these guys were the best choice. Customer service was top notch; both the person on the phone and the specialist attending to my car were helpful at explaining things and getting help to me so quickly. I called them yesterday and they scheduled maintenance for today! The work arrived to my place and was done probably in about an hour. Finished the whole window and helped me clean up the car from all the glass too! I’m so happy for the service, could not recommend more. Thank you!

They recently saved me, my windshield is badly damaged and believe it or not i need it in a week, talk about bad luck. Then search the net and boom i picked san jose cause its near. I was expecting to get it like before i need but i did not expect that ill get it with a day to spare. I didn’t get a text or call before the tech arrived- but I was available so not a big deal. The install was performed at the home we were visiting which was very convenient. The tech left black adhesive smudges on the A pillar trim inside the car and there were crumbs of old adhesive and glass chips on the dash, hood a d garage floor. I cleaned up after he left but I was surprised this wasn’t done by the tech.

Called this place an spoke with a representative to come and evaluate my windshield damage. The representative text me so I could give them my address and said they could come some time later in the day and if not, they could come the next day. I text them my address and never heard from them again. I even text them again to remind them and still never heard from them. Wouldn’t recommend this company.

The service I received at San Jose Auto Glass & Windshield Repair Specialist was beyond fantastic. The price of my windshield replacement was affordable, their customer service is top notch and they go out if their way make sure you are happy before closing your car door! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for new windows or other auto related services in the future
