Safelite is a total ripoff. I will never use them again. I had them replace a windshield through insurance due to a bolt coming off a semi and hitting my work van. They replaced it and 3 months later I got a chip so I called them out to seal it but they were two weeks out so sure enough it turned into a full crack across the windshield so they told me it had to be replaced. I paid them for it because my deductible was less than the replacement now less than 90 days later another chip and they charged me $217 to repair it for what took the tech 5 min to do. They said to call my insurance and they would cover it. Sure enough they said they wouldn’t. The tech even “called his manager” which I could tell it was another tech and he said “we will take $50 off” then they proceeded to charge me the full price and left. I didn’t realize until after I got the email receipt. This company rips off peoples insurance when it’s convenient for them and then rips you off when insurance doesn’t pay. Stay away! Find a local glass company and save yourself the hassle of dealing with these people. I’m now $1200 in with them and every time I question the integrity of the product they assure me they use the best glass but I literally had a tech tell me they get the cheapest glass they can find from China and upcharge the heck out of it. Big corporate companies at their finest!

For the 2 workers that put my window in, they did a great job. But, it took 1 month from the first call to the final moment getting my window. Ordering the wrong part 3 times, and multiple delays and cancellations on their part. If I didn't call myself to make the 2nd order happen, no one would have made it happen from Safelite. This all happened in Fayetteville, NC. I never had a problem before this. I would just say, ask them to double check one exactly what type and piece of glass they are ordering for you.

Scheduling the appointment was relatively painless, they even contacted our insurance company to handle the claim. We were even able to have a technician come to our house. Then it went terribly wrong. The Tech removed a series of components from under the hood to access the windscreen and then did not reinstall the pieces correctly, going as far as to break the molded in fastener that secures the cover in place. Then completely lost the two cowl grille fastener nuts. Then to top things off she just completely took the engine compartment rear weather strip! We have two same year Mini Coopers, here are the pictures of the under hood areas highlighted in green for the good one and red for the results left by Safelite. You can see the clean black plastic mounting surface where the seal is missing. I question the entire quality of the install based on what happened under the hood, that I could actually see. I hope this windscreen doesn't leak the first time it rains...

Unlike their commercials. Safelite WON'T repair and WON'T replace. At a recent installation appointment they agreed to the job. Took $100 payment, removed the old glass, and then informed me they will not install the new glass. Now my vehicle has no new glass and doesn't even have the old glass. Then due to this, they will not release my vehicle to me to use. I understand that sometimes you have to decline jobs so you don't have to have any liabilities in your name. But at some point trying to protect your business financially winds up hurting your business because you turn down more business than you take in. That seems to be the case with SafeLite these days. Too much focus on corporate policies and not on customer service. It is also one thing to not accept work. But to take someone's payment information, start working on their vehicle, take the glass off, and leave you having to tow your vehicle out is unacceptable. At least perform an inspection prior to accepting payment and starting the work. Don't leave your customers stranded with no glass.

I was prepared for a long visit because of the need to calibrate my camera with windshield replacement . The waiting area provided hot drinks, but the cooler did not have any water. The TV played the HDTV channel that was enjoyable. The chairs were not the most comfortable but adequate. All in all it was not a bad experience. When my job was completed, It was a first class job. The Safelite personnel were courteous and professional and there were no surprises. I would definitely recommend them for anyone needing auto-glass repair.

My dads windshield cracked about two weeks ago. This windshield had been replaced back in December of 21 or January of 22. It had not been hit by a rock or anything so I called and scheduled an appointment to have it replaced under their supposed nationwide warranty. When their technician Justin got there he looked at it and agreed that there was no damage caused by a rock or anything hitting it but would not replace it because we had a hail storm over 2 months before and he said he believes that maybe that hail storm from over two months ago weekend it causing it to finally crack 2 mo the later from the heat. Now they won’t return a phone call or honor their warranty because there was a hail storm 2 months before it cracked. What a joke of a place. Some warranty Update 11/25/23 Today I was finally about to get a warranty appointment. The bronco has been at the repair shop and their technician, Larry came out. Great guy he looked at it and said he saw an impact point. I informed him that it just got back from the body shop and while it was there for repairs they had to remove the windshield and that due to the stress crack already in the glass and showed him the pics that I had uploaded to their review I put up 2 mo this ago. He looked at them and clearly saw and said him self there was no impact marks from when it first happened and would share the photos with the shop manager. The shop manager finally called me and said that no matter what that even though there was no initial impact mark causing the stress crack that once anybody removes it even an auto body repair shop it completely voids out their warranty and that I should have the repair shop pay for a new windshield that was cracked when it was took to them because safelite took their time to come out and do a proper inspect and it had to get into the body shop or drive the vehicle around with the damage for a few more months because of safelight not wanting to come look at it when it happened. It seems like they will do anything and everything in their power to not stand behind their warranty even when you have proof of their products failing. I should have to keep driving around a damaged vehicle while you’ll drag your feet to come do your job and stand by your product. When I make an inside claim again because of their products failing I’ll make sure to go to another company that will stand by their product and not do everything o. Their power to get out of honoring their warranty and trying to provide customer service.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
