Edit since owner response : I was very pleased to learn about the warranty considering my window was never damaged. However I would assume the company will save money where it can. I guess this is what one would expect from a nationwide company. The windshield on my car got smashed severely last month, I was not able to drive so I figured safelite would be a good option to come to me, plus they had a discount at the time of booking so the price was great! When my service date came, I planned for the inconvenient arrival time of 8am-5pm, but I understand it can't always be narrowed down. By 530 I had no updates, so I spent a while on the phone trying to figure out if anyone was coming. Finally around 6pm the tech called and said he was on the way. He showed up, said "sorry, I have the wrong glass with incorrect tint for the model, but it will fit" I chose to proceed since I needed my vehicle and had already waited a week. Fast forward 3 weeks, I have had no damage to the windshield. I parked in a family members driveway for maybe an hour, and when I got back in my car there was a crack over a foot long beginning from the edge of the window across the driver's side. I called safelite immediately and was assured they have a lifetime warranty covering such things, and I could get an appointment to replace asap. I was guaranteed there would be no charge and the tech was coming to replace it. Today just before the tech told me he would arrive, after taking the effort to ensure my car was at home all day for the arrival window, I was told that he would not be allowed to replace the window without the full cost due to the clear damage from a rock hitting the windshield. I understand it is unproveable from me, but I know for a fact this is not what occurred. I will certainly not be using this company again, as I would hope that in a situation when the work had just been completed weeks before there would be at least some understanding and compromise. I now have a daily increasing crack on my window that I cannot afford to replace anytime soon.

I went to their website and filled out the questionnaire for a quote. This included make model etc . Basically, everything about the including about the car including insurance information and anything else I wanted done. I was given a quote somewhere in the mid four hundred dollar range and given the opportunity to schedule an appointment, which I did. They sent me emails telling me the work would take an hour. When I arrived for the appointment they told me it was going to take two hours. I left the car and went down the street to a better place to wait. After over two hours, they texted me that the car was done. The charge was in the mid six hundred dollar range. 150 percent of the quote. Basically, I received nothing from them but lies. Lord only knows how good workmanship is. Only time will tell.

Horrible experience. Brought car in for a small rock chip repair on passenger side windshield and ended up making the chip start to crack worse. Not even a day later it was starting to crack all the way to the middle of the windshield. All I keep getting is the run around on how it’s my responsibility to cover the $1200 for further damage safelite caused

Due to thunderstorms we called to get our service moved to a business site or another day. The St. Joseph, MO site was able to fit us in since their drivers had both called in that day and they were about to call us anyway. When we got there early the young lady was able to give us advice on a nice place to get something for lunch while we waited.

During the service of my vehicle the rearview mirror was dangling from the ceiling of the car the entire time the technical was working on replacing the windshield, which is the location for the forward camera. The technician ran the initial diagnostics, removed the wipers, removed some car paneling, removed the windshield, replaced everything, ran further diagnostics, disappeared on a test drive, and returned to tell me everything was calibrated and runs perfect. I could see the windshield looked perfect, so I decided to wait until dark, for the test drive, to ensure all my safety features were still active because I didn’t like the way my rearview mirror was dangling from the car ceiling. During the nighttime test drive, as soon as I pressed the start button and the engine started, warning messages immediately started popping up all over the screen, saying the front camera and the collision system are inoperable, so I took it on the road to see what else was wrong and noticed the location speed information wasn’t being received, the blind spot monitoring system, lane departing, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams systems were all inoperable. Thinking that this was an easy calibration adjustment, I quickly messaged Safelite and they sent the same technician to my job location to recalibrate my vehicle. Two hours later, the technician told me he couldn’t fix the problem and then apologized and told me before he even started working on my car, he noticed a camera error message and by policy he should have never worked on my car. He continued to ask me if I remembered how cars functioned in the 90s with no safety features, and said that’s the status of my car now, and his manager is requesting that I sign a waiver, acknowledging that I understand and accept the risks associated with this car status, and assume responsibility for him proceeding with the work. I told the technician, he must be joking to think I would sign a document to cover any incompetencies and if he had told me this before he started working on my car, I would have driven the car to the BMW dealer to complete the service. I drove my car to BMW the same day, and they verified the systems were no longer working after the service from Safelite. Needless to say, after my car set at the BMW dealer for a month waiting on parts to be delivered from overseas, the systems have all been restored at my cost. My model BMW is very rare (2013, only 7 sold in US) and this whole experience has led me to believe, that Safelite may have limitations servicing certain high end model cars, and are not willing to stand behind the damage caused by their service. I don’t have time for the pick an error code game, after causing damage to my vehicle.

Twice now that I had my windsheild replaced on two separate BMW vehicles, they had to come back to redo. Using a non-certified windsheild where it does not fit properly and doesn't seal. At speeds over 60 mph, there are major leaks and noise from the improper fitment. Thankfully, they have a very good warranty service, yet having to take time out of your day twice as their appointments request being available between 8am to 5pm. But overall...mission accomplished.
