***DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS***** Sent my daughter here ( on a Saturday because it was the only place open) for a tire repair from a plug that I installed and was not working. Could hear the air coming out of the tire loudly and loosing pressure fast. They brought the vehicle in and charged $60 for the repair. Went to vehicle outside and could still hear the air coming out of the tire and tire going flat. When went back inside was told that they were going to charge another $70 to repair the tire again that they didn’t fix the first time. When speaking with the staff, they stated “if you want the tire actually fixed they you need to pay us the additional money, because now they have to look at it twice. it’s not their responsibility to make sure the tire isn’t still leaking once theyve done a “repair” What kind of shady business practice has kept this place open.

We visited Baltazar to get a quote for a set of studded tires. They quoted us $600 for used set of tires that are almost brand new. Sounded like a good deal so we made the purchase. A few weeks go by and we realized the same tires (2 front) are always low on air/flat. We were not informed that we have 30 days to report any issue. Today, we revisited Baltazer after finding out from another mechanic that the tires they had sold us had 8 holes total. They were not good condition and they were fairly old. I asked front desk (owners wife) if they disclose the condition of the tires to their customer before selling and she said yes but to our experience we were not disclosed any information regarding condition of the tire besides selling it to us as “still new condition used tires”. The manager told us that they had to let go of a lot of their people due to drug abuse and that to his knowledge tires with holes are not to be sold. They proceeded to give us two options which requires us to pay more to replace the tires they sold us which were “bad tires”. Keep in mind, they pulled our car for inspection but DID NOT INSPECT THE CAR and was quick to come up with that answer. THEY REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT UNLESS WE PAY MORE TO REPLACE THE BAD TIRE THEY SOLD US! Please make that make sense. This business in my opinion is scamming people and are not honest about their business. By looking at numerous reviews and complaints, I am not the only victim this has happened to. It seems as if every day there is complaints the same as mine. We support local business but this type of business will continue to do this to customer for as long as no consequences are being made for their actions. I do not recommend this business to anyone.

Geez, just calling to ask if they do alignment on a vehicle is enough to make me not go here. Here's the convo: Ring ring - pickup, "Hold". After a minute, "Baltazars." "Yeah, do you guys do alignment on vehicles?" "Unfortunately, yes. Year and make?" "Unfortunately? Why Unfortunately?" "The year and make!" "Uh, okay, it's a 2014 Ford Escape." "Ugh, we're busy. Soonest is June 2nd. It'll be $175." "Okay, thanks. I'll call around." "Fine." This was the end of my convo. First off, you sounded like I was an inconvenience. Sorry that I called to ask a question. Second, if you don't want to do alignments, stop offering them. Simple. You're right around the corner from where I live, but I'll gladly go to KD Tire for a higher price to avoid this place after that phone call. It was so bad that it was actually funny.

To start: on the right day, they're service is great, I'll give them that. However, I have had multiple bad experiences and will not be returning. To be noted: I am a 21 year old woman. The first was sometime this summer, when I was condescended to and then mocked by one of the workers when asked which type of oil for my car. I specifically said that since the car is in my father's name, and he only runs conventional through it, to do conventional. He continued to condescend and push for synthetic, but I repeatedly told him no, and when he wouldn't stop I told him to take it up with my father. When I stepped away from the desk, i forgot to give them my keys, so I stepped back up, said "sorry, you need these", and he openly mocked me. The second experience was this morning. It's the beginning of winter, so it's tire changeover season. They usually don't take oil changes end of fall/beginning of winter. However, I got my tires changed over here a few weeks ago, and when I asked about oil changes I was told it would be a couple weeks. So, i tried my luck. I arrived on site about an hour before they're opening time, was approached by a worker, I SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT I ONLY NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE, he said that it should be doable. I waited in line for 2 hours (when i could have been at work), only to get my car into the shop and then two minutes later be told they aren't doing oil changes right now and to come back in a few weeks. I don't care that I'm having to wait longer to get an oil change, why aren't their own workers educated on what they're currently providing services for??? Waste of my time. Don't go here if you want good customer service and actually want the work done.

I really want to support local businesses but this is one to stay away from. You can see from my numerous reviews, it takes great effort to earn a one star from me. Dropped off 4 beautiful nokian studded tires to be mounted on loose rims. It seemed like a very straightforward job but after 1.5 wks of no word, I called and they said it just got done. When I arrived, they had me pay first which was interesting since on the workorder states $89, but verbally told me $70+$16 used tire disposal for a total of $86, but at checkout he charged me $85. When I picked up my tires I didn't recognize them as they had new, blue studs. The young man told me they restudded my tires. At no time did I tell them to do that. You can see from the workorder that didn't ask for restudding. As Alaskans know, the reason you pay extra for nokian tires is for their exceptional diamond studs. Now my nokian tires have empty stud holes and the rest are inferior blue studs. In addition, the studs they put in are of the wrong size and they wiggle. I am certain I'll lose those studs on the road. Bottom line, my $1000 nokian studded tires are ruined. Lesson learned.

Previously i wrote a glowing review about this place, but, i'm compelled now to alter my opinion. We switched from Costco to Baltazars, we wanted to support local and it's so close to our house. But last winter after my wife's tire swap she drove immediately about a half mile to our home. The next day she noticed her tire was flat, went back, they said thier was a problem with the valve stem, mind you they were the last people to touch the valve stem. We fought it all winter with the sensor constantly showing the tire was low, now we know why. So we took it to Audi and they called and told us the rim was damaged and could not be balanced, a new rim is $1900! Im upset that they did shoddy work and i'm when we returned they had t to know about the valve stem and said nothing. You know when you visit Costco and the tire techs have all these certifications on the wall, well this is why it matters. We wont be going back. Today someone contacted me from Balthazar’s for what reason its not clear but they denied all responsibility “ she drove on a flat tire” Yeah the flat tire they installed! Look on Yelp 2.4 stars, and lots of photos.
