Came in for a 8 am appointment to have my window shield replaced. Around 9:15 am John, the technician that was performing work on my vehicle comes out with a nonchalant attitude about him wiping my replacement down and it drops in the midst of it!. The receptionist comes over and informs me that they are reaching out to the warehouse which is 1 hour and a half away to see if they have one in stock. I understand things happen but how could you be so careless. You’re literally working with something that is fragile. Maybe if the music wasn’t so loud and the staff wasn’t joking around this could have been avoided. My entire morning is wasted. No apology was issued until I asked them for one. If I should ever have any issues with auto glass. I will never return here.ServicesAuto windshield repair

On October 11th 2024, a technician visited my home to perform a scheduled auto windshield chip repair on my 2021 Tahoe. After attempting to repair the chip, the technician told us that the car was too hot and that he knew he shouldn’t have attempted the repair which led to a new and approximate 12” crack across the windshield. The technician apologized for the error and told us that his manager would be calling to get the windshield replaced. After waiting three days with no calls from the local Safelite office, I spent an hour on the phone e attempting to get through to schedule an appointment for replacement. I was able to get this done but was shocked to learn that the $0 repair turned in to a $670 replacement due to the technicians admitted mistake in working on the windshield in the direct heat. A garage was available for use but the technician did not use it. Another hour or more was spent speaking to various Safelite customer service agents and “local office” personnel attempting to figure out why I was responsible to cover a windshield that was damaged by the technicians admitted mistake. I spoke to local office manager “Sam” who accepted no responsibility or empathy for this error and told me it was “only $670” through my insurance with a $1000 deductible. The way this has been handled, the lack of accountability, responsibility, and concern for these actions is mind blowing. Safelite has offered no other suggestions other than “paying the cost of the replacement as they are not responsible for any damage caused by no fault of the technician”. Multiple attempts to explain the technician admitted responsibility, were met by a manager who didn’t care.

Wish I could give all SafeLite locations zero stars. They have attempted to repair the windshield on my brand new truck 5 times unsuccessfully. Now, for attempt #6 they need to sand and paint my roof because of their poor workmanship. They will have my truck for 3 days for this repair. Am I confident it will look good? Zero chance. My truck has 8,000 miles on it and now requires body work because they can’t replace a windshield in 5 attempts. Avoid SafeLite at all costs. Go anywhere else. This was the same experience with a SafeLite location in Pennsylvania the last time I needed a windshield replaced.

This is a 2 star review because everyone there is nice. I had an appointment to replace my windshield on July 10. When the technician showed up, he didn’t have the right molding, so we had to reschedule. They never contacted me about when it came in, but I was able to schedule on August 5th. When I showed up this morning, they had the molding, but no windshield… didn’t bother contacting me to let me know not to be there. Maybe it will work on Thursday when we are rescheduled. Thursday update: They did replace my windshield on Thursday as hoped, and again, everyone is very nice, but this has been a challenging repair. I was waiting for my car in their waiting room, and they never called my name. I noticed a txt about 45 minutes after they completed the repair... during that time they had called several other people's names but for inexplicable reasons didn't call mine... At least it is done... hopefully the quality of the work reflects the attitude of the workers (which is excellent), rather than the organization of the company (which is dreadful)! Another Update: They did a bad job putting on the molding so there is a substantial bubble on one side of the windshield and a gap on the other. Also, they did not replace the trim around the mirror. They also knocked off a piece of molding under the hood and left it lying such that the hood didn't close quite right. They agreed to replace the molding (and hopefully get the rest of the trim work done correctly this time), but have to wait a week for the glue to fully cure so they can scrape it off when they pull the windshield to reset the moulding. Yikes.

We came here for my daughter's windshield replacement. After it being there most of the day, we we're told everything checked out good with the repair and recalibration and left. Immediately after leaving the shop the crash detection and lane departure were not working. We went back to the shop only to find they already closed and left. We made another appointment but the next open slot was more than a week away. There was no option to come sooner even though I expressed concern that with the crash detection disabled, I was very concerned about my daughter's safety. That didn't seem to matter. At the next appt they confirmed the calibration didn't work and tried again, but with no luck. We were told to come back again, about 10 days later. At this point, the cruise control was now not working either. The day before that next appt they called to cancel and said it would have to be another week. I asked that we just cancel everything and give me my money back. The shop manager agreed, which was great, but more than two weeks later that still hasn't happened. We went ahead to the dealership and they fixed everything right away. They said they get a lot of cars from Safelite. In addition about half the people in the Safelite store during each visit were there for follow up calibrations and problems. In the end, the dealership total price was cheaper than Safelite, although we are now out extra money because we've paid twice. Trying to figure options now. I would avoid this store and save the headaches. Check with your dealership first or find another company.

They broke the entire wiper assembly misinstalling a windshield in May. We had no idea it was the windshield install at the time and took on the cost of replacing the wiper assembly in full. Three months later with a fully operational fully new wiper assembly the replacement windshield stress cracked. Safelite nicely came out and did a warranty replacement. And broke the wiper assembly again. It’s not even close to properly installed. Sam at the local Safelite shop that did the repair said maybe my new motor failed. Exactly after the new windshield was installed? Exactly after the arms were improperly installed? Nice try. I sincerely hope they come and fix this asap. We were unable to visit an ill parent because of this. And we are out all that money on the first wiper break. I’ve attached photos showing the arms clearly improperly indexed down to the cowl. Showing is the passenger side. The arms are also pressed upon each other. And the driver side is resting stuck under the hood where it clearly scratched the hood. Audi has a service bulletin for this, the error from these shops so common.ServicesAuto windshield replacementPrice assessmentOverpriced

I made an appointment 2 weeks early. Dropped the car off at 9:15 am and was told they would call when it was finished. All the emails confirming my appointment said I would get updates on the progress of my windshield repair by text. Never got any. At 4:00 PM I called the national line (no local number listed anywhere) and asked for help. The customer service rep put me on hold, and then told me she had tried to contact the local office three times and never got an answer. "Sorry." So I drove to the shop making sure I get there before 5:00 because that's when the website says they close. They had not started on my car yet and said they were closing at 7:00, not 5:00, but they ordered the wrong windshield, and it caused delays. It wasn't clear if they ever got the right windshield or not, or if they could still do the repair that day. I just asked for my keys. They offered to knock $150 off the repair for my trouble (original estimate was $1,000). Would I like to reschedule? I said no thanks.

I had the a windshield replaced 10/1 by Safelite where they came to my home to install it. I saw another crack on the windshield on the driver's side on 10/10 and scheduled a warranty service with them for 10/14. The tech told me that there was a "point of impact" which is the reason for the crack and denied the replacement under warranty. This point is smaller than the tip of a pen. It's obnoxious how this tech can say with such certainty that this was the reason for the crack and not at least question the quality of the glass. Safelite has or should have a customer service funding bucket and if they cared at all about their customer service rating they would use these funds to support my disagreement with their decision and replace the windshield but I can't make them do that. I can however share the experience with others. Hope this helps others make their decision.ServicesAuto windshield repair, Auto windshield replacementPrice assessmentOverpriced

Lousy workmanship, non existence customer care. Brand new glass INSTALLED with four scratches in the glass. You have to reschedule another appointment but don't worry cause you have a warranty. ???? How about you install it once, correctly. Glass has a residue on the interior section as well. The cover for the sensors near the rear view mirror fell off because they weren't reinstalled properly. Made no offer to credit my payment for the issues or the inconvenience of a second appointment. Safelite customer service tried contacting the shop directly, put me on hold for ten minutes, came back on the phone to say they couldn't reach anyone. She told me the manager would contact me. Nope. No contact. I am the last person who wants to waste my time writing a negative review but here I am. Absolute joke.

The staff here is absolutely incredible. They helped me get my windshield replaced early in the day so that I could make an appointment, and even helped fix my mistake of dropping the car in the wrong location. Google still shows an old address if you just type in “Safelite,” so I accidentally dropped my car at the wrong shop, and they went to pick it up for me! My car was done in ~2 hours. Brittney in particular was helpful, professional, and friendly throughout the entire process. She made this an easy experience during a very stressful week, and I can’t thank her enough!
