Get a quote for a replacement and not just a repair bc if the tech damages it beyond repair, it’ll require a replacement and you’ll need to foot the bill. We had a 1 cm fine line crack in our windshield that was quoted to be covered by insurance. Samantha came and attempted repair (7/9) but fractured the glass further to where it was no longer repairable and would require replacement. Samantha called “the shop” and scheduled a repair for the following day (7/10) with arrival between 12-5 pm. At 4 pm on (7/10) we had not received any update, I called and was told by the regional call center representative that we had an appointment and transferred us the shop 3 times and no one ever answered. No one showed up or gave us any communication or update. Rescheduling an appointment took 5 phone calls on 7/11 bc the representatives kept transferring me to the shop and no one ever answered. Finally a representative scheduled us for a new appointment at the shop for 7/12 instead of transferring our call to the shop. We took the car in for the third appointment today and were told it would now be $500 even though the safelite tech fractured it further but couldn’t/wouldn’t explain why. So I called the call center again and talked to Renee who was helpful and explained the $500 is a deductible that we are responsible for regardless of who caused the damage. Since we will now have to pay $500 regardless we plan to have another business complete the replacement. The accompanying picture is the damage we are left with after Samantha attempted the initial repair.

Update: 11/27/2024 Unfortunately safelite destroyed my car so badly that insurance will be covering their damages. I went to get my car repaired and found out they installed the wrong windshield and completely broke my mirror. My car is so badly damaged that I need to wait for the shop to order parts. I am devastated that my car was damaged to this extent. I understand mistakes but, this was deliberate damage. Update: 11/20/2024 Components that adhere the windshield to the car are now flying off. A long black strip flew off of my windshield on 36th street. This location is not safe for young women. Please find an alternative. There is one mechanic here who became frustrated with me on 11/12/2024 for refusing an unnecessary service. He splattered adhesive on my dash/wheel and smeared it throughout the car. I am still discovering areas where he smeared it (a week later). The windshield was left partially glued down and you can hear and feel the wind coming in. My mirror technology was left broken after the mechanic “fixed it.” On 11/16/2024 my dad took my car in to give the company an opportunity to fix their mistakes. The same mechanic was there and argued with my dad about the service he provided. We asked for the keys back as my dad and I felt uncomfortable letting him work on my car— given he had damaged it so badly. Please do not risk your life for convenience. If your windshield flies off while driving, it poses a risk to you and others. SAFE auto glass techs: Clear Image Auto Glass

I was referred by Progressive Insurance to this affiliate against my wishes because they were in their network. (Progressive insurance makes you work through affiliate companies like this and they will only pay for Original Equipment Equivalent glasses that is not OEM. They also coerce you into using their affiliates by holding you responsible for any costs that Progressive wouldn’t pay and they feel are extraordinary.)Safelite failed to meet the 3 hour completion scheduled time. They failed to get the car done the day it was promised resulting in my need to make extraordinary arrangements to get alternative transportation and return to the facility. When I got my car back, there are dirty finger prints on the cloth interior pillars and the molding isn’t fully seated. My windshield washer fluid stopped working after the service because the supply line was kinked. Was I was diagnosing the problem I noted that 6 of the retaining fasteners that hold the windshield cowl molding were never reinstalled. Safelite’s response is for me to submit a warranty claim and take the car back in. Absolutely ridiculous and poor service resolution.

Came in for a simple windshield swap. Before I could say “cracked glass,” the tech proudly announced he’d “courtesy-inspected” my cabin air filter (because, clearly, cabin air filtration is critical to window transparency). He then tried to upsell me a fresh filter for the bargain price of $55—roughly the cost of four entire boxes of them at any parts store. I politely declined. He huffed and walked off. Fast-forward to me arriving home, opening the glove compartment to grab my registration, and discovering a fun surprise: my cabin air filter, the filter door, and assorted plastic bits tossed inside like automotive trail mix. Apparently “reinstallation” wasn’t included in the upsell script. So thanks, Safelite—you managed to turn a windshield replacement into an impromptu DIY scavenger hunt. If I ever need random car parts redistributed around my interior (but not actually reattached), I’ll know exactly where not to go.

I scheduled my appointment online in a few minutes. They were able to come out and replace my windshield the following week. They called about 30 minutes before arrival and I got a text with his ETA once he was en route. It took about an hour and a half to complete the work and recalibrate the electronics in the windshield. They dealt directly with my insurance company and I paid my deductible directly on their website. So, I didn’t have to make any extra calls, make a claim with my insurance or pay up front and get reimbursed. The process was incredibly easy and hassle free. I would highly recommend Safelite.

They came to fix my windshield that went fine. However a couple weeks later things went bad. The initial guy didn't do something right. They came back out to check and said they needed to order parts and that they would call me to come fix what was broken. A week later I got a text that my service was complete even though they never came back. It's not been three weeks and I never even heard from them. So I paid for a service that was never complete. Super cool...

Update: Dash-sounding noise was because of the gap they left, and lack of proper sealing. This is after another shop had to remove the whole thing and redo it the right way. Safelight used to be great but now they use cheap quality products while charging high prices, they do a bad job then blame the customer, and they conveniently claim 30 day warranty when they’ve messed up your car. Jake, especially was rude and obnoxious. Go to them at your own risk.

From the representative scheduling my mobile installation to the technician who installed my windshield, my experience was excellent. They were both extremely polite, personable and engaging. I was more than impressed. Having quality employees makes a huge difference, so thank you to Safelite for their obvious attention to taking care of their staff. If/when I need another windshield installed, I will not hesitate to call Safelite.

I am very happy with the quick response that I receive from Safelite. My insurance company, Horace Mann, has an agreement with Safelite where I call Safelite, they verify my Horace Mann Identification number and begin to schedule the work. It is fast, easy, and they will come to where your vehicle is and repair your glass. I have had to call them twice in the last two weeks for rock chips and they did great work and it was fast!

Aaron was kind and courteous and did his job within the allotted time, all seems well with my replacement windshield. I drove it yesterday for the first time, have not yet washed my vehicle, and have had no rain to date.. still hopeful that there are no leaks and I am grateful for Aaron for coming to my place of residence so I didn’t have to travel…ServicesAuto windshield replacementPrice assessmentReasonable price
