New and Better Auto Glass & Tint

Terrible service and customer service. I went there to replace my windshield and told them from before that I need all my tags to be removed from the windshield healthy. They ruined my inspection tag and when I told them they said we have no magic hands to fix it! Then after s long conversation they accepted to pay for a new safety inspection certificate. They even wrote it on my receipt “come back for refund”. I went there again with my new inspection receipt and they told me we will not pay for your new inspection. After a long conversation with the manager and her boss they told me you can go through law to get your money back! And none of them could talk or understand English enough to communicate with customers! Such a waste of time and money!

DO NOT GO HERE! please take the time to read about my experience. I took my brand new BMW (that I saved for years to be able to buy) to this place, and they are sloppy and careless about your car. They left streaks all over the interior door panels (supposedly from water and soap). I spent lots of time at home trying hot water, windex, etc to try to get rid of these streaks. I got rid of most of them, but some are still visible. Ok, so I let that slide. Then after doing a crappy job on the tint to begin with, I gave it a week figuring that perhaps it needs time to dry and will look better. Nope. So with the lifetime warranty, I took it back and they had to fix 3 out of my 4 windows, since there was a lot of bubbling and peeling on the driver's door window. This time when I got the car back, I noticed there was scratches on the tint on both rear quarter windows (back windows of a coupe that don't roll down). I figured it was just the tint, and at this point I was too fed up with this place. Not only that, but there were white specs in the interior of my car (which is black) and on the rubber strip of the door jam (after removing and replacing tint on the driver's window). I thought it was just something that would wipe off so I went home and dealt with it later. Well, it wouldn't come off with anything I used. I took my car back to New & Better tint to show them what they had done. Apparently they used ammonia to remove the tint and had sprayed it there, causing the discoloration. They had me bring it to a detail shop, which they used Meguiar's Black plastic restorer, which made it look almost like it was. However, after a few days that faded so you could see the white spots again. This part is about $350, plus labor. But they refuse to replace it. Back to the windows: The scratches that I thought was just in the tint, was actually on the inside of the window. They weren't there prior to them removing and replacing the tint. I have no children or pets or anyone who ever sat in the back seat of my car, and like I said, this car is brand new. However, they refuse to replace the windows, which is about $950. TLDR: They do a sloppy job at tint, use cheap tint, and ruin the interior of your car. If you care about your car DON'T GO HERE!!

DANGER STAY AWAY!!! RUINED MY BACK WINDOW DEFROST GRID!!! Back in 06/21/2023 I needed the tint removal in order for my car to pass the MD state inspection. So I took my car to New and Better Glass & Tint for a window tint removal. They worked on my car and peeled the tint off of my car windows. Since it was June and the days were warm enough, I didn’t noticed right away that the back window defrost grid was almost completely destroyed after their service. Nevertheless, after a day or two I checked my back defrost only to find out that it was damaged by peeling off the tint carelessly. Only bottom one third of the grid was functional. I went back and confronted the older Asian guy who worked on my car about the grid being destroyed and showed him the damages on the grid lines and I asked him to fix what he had done. He responded that it couldn’t be fixed and told me to replace the back windshield to a new one just like nothing happened. I should’ve left this review way back then when it happened but since I was so busy with moving to MD from another state at the time and didn’t know how much the back window replacement would cost I just didn’t take the time to do so. Only a little part of the grid is functional since then. This gives me a hard time whenever winter comes and days get cold. They should’ve replaced my back window to a new one since they destroyed the grid. (There is a receipt as a proof of their service in one of the pictures).

The price I was given when I came for a window replacement changed the next day when I came to drop it off by over $50 because he said "oh, it will have to be tinted and that's extra" so already off to a bad start with them. I go ahead and do it because I need the window replaced while I'm at work and I say I'll pick it up when I get off. When I come back to pick up and pay they then and only then decide to tell me they don't take credit cards and then points to a small little sticker on the window in the lobby. I never even went into the lobby except to pay. The first day he came outside when I pulled up and talked to me, and he did also when I came to drop it off, and never once told me this, but made sure to tell me it would be more after we already agreed on a price. On top of that they took off the headrest of my back seats and just left them thrown in my floor instead of putting them back on. Will never go to this place again for anything, would rather drive with all my windows broken before I come back here

I was VERY optimistic about this place because I was referred to them by my cousin. First of all, one of my tint wasn’t done properly. It had a chip at the top of it and the bottom portion wasn’t properly fitted. Also, I felt ripped off. I paid $30 to remove Glue from the 4 side windows and the Back glass. I asked how much would it be if I wanted the Windshield to be cleaned also, and I was told $40. In the end they charged me $40 to clean one mirror and $30 to clean five mirrors. When I asked him why didn’t he tell me it’s and EXTRA $40 to clean the Windshield rather than making me believe that the total was $40, he smiled in my face. His wife trying to explain to me what her Husband meant and I had to ask her to please stop, because she wasn’t there when her Husband was pricing my tinting and cleaning. I just paid and left. NEVER GOING BACK!!! And I made sure went almost TWO weeks before rolling my windows down, so they can’t say I rolled it down too quick.

I've had tint installed on all my vehicles over the last couple of years and I can say hands down that New and Better auto glass is the best in the business. New and Better auto glass recently installed tint on my new Dodge Charger Scat Pack and their work is really that of a poets , taking their time, no rushing and dedicated to getting the job done properly. Can't speak highly enough of New and Better work.I was referred to New and Better auto glass by numerous people, and I have to say their work is outstanding. After I got in touch with New and Better auto glass, they worked around my schedule and was able to fit me in on only a few minutes notice by staying open last. I Left my car with them for several hours and they had it ready and looking great, Amazing and punctual service. If you need your windows tinted, New and Better auto glass is the only place I'd recommend. By Mitch the truth Williams

I would give it a 1 star but the tints on my other windows were done pretty well. I have a hatchback mazda and it's the first time tinting the car. I got the tints about 2-3 years ago. For some reason my back window is starting to bubble and after looking up other tint places. Can barely see out the window at night. That shouldn't be happening so early. I tried to go back to the place with my receipt to get it fixed and the lady said "It's not water bubbling so we can't replace". The bubbling is due to the heat. Now the prices are decent but in about a few years your tints may look like the pictures of my back window. I wouldn't recommend going if you plan on going back every 3 years. The receipt says life time warranty but only for water bubbling and peeling. Next time I'm going to use a more professional location.

Every car I owned I bring here to get my tints.. never disappointed me from the time I arrived up until I departed. I thought to leave a review because I actually was looking at the time of operations because I just purchased a Camry and he need tints asap… My truck had a crack across the windshield which My insurance paid full repair cost in addition I asked if he can tint the glass prior to replacement ( I paid out of pocket for that ) he did just what I asked and it was a beautiful job 😊 I love the fact they provide you with a warranty for the tints which I’m certain I will never have to use cause the work is flawless every time! The first time I went here I had a great experience. I can’t say the same for this time. I was quoted a price on the phone and made an appointment. When we arrived for the appointment, we were told that they didn’t have time to do the windshield replacement until the following day and that it was going to cost $90 more than quoted. Since we were already there we agreed to the price. Approximately 1 week later the we started hearing a rattling. We had an appointment to get some repair work done on the car and asked them to take a look at the possible cause of the rattling. They found that the windshield was not installed probably. I can’t recommend this glass repair business.

My 2012 Mazda Miata had the molding holding in the windshield glass dry out, break, and need replacing. Normally this requires a new windshield since replacing the molding requires removal and reinstall of the windshield, and windshield removal often results in breaking the glass. New and Better was able to remove the windshield, put the new molding on, and reseat the windshield without breaking it! They told me when they quoted the job it would be $150 if they could keep the windshield but $300 if they had to replace it.
