I am ecstatic with the service I received from Smith Auto Glass. I had a crack in my windshield that required a replacement. The quote from the dealer and another auto glass repair was twice the price and both had to order parts. One call to Fred, and he was able to fit me in the schedule for a replacement. The service was fast, and the quality is impeccable. If you live in the area, look nowhere else. Thank you!ServicesAuto windshield replacement

Had my front driver side window broken because of a storm and instead of using safelite, I wanted to support a local business. Although it took a while for me to get it repaired(had to wait for the glass to be delivered), Fred(the owner) was extremely helpful, personable, and communicative about the entire process. Once the glass came in, it was about an hour-ish job to complete. They do have a waiting room, but if it's a nice day, you can easily walk to the inner harbor/downtown, grab a bite to eat, and come back. I definitely recommend this place if you need glass repaired/replaced. There's a reason this place has been operational for 65 years.

The church that I work for needed a windshield replaced on one of our commercial vehicles. We went with Safelite first and they wouldn't touch the windshield because of some rust (the vehicle is a 1985 truck!). We called Smith Auto and they came out the next day. The technician, Bob, was friendly and helpful. He did good quality work in a reasonable amount of time. When it was time to pay, I called Stacy at Smith to use our business credit card. The card was declined, even though we tried to run it twice. It simply wouldn't work. I politely said to Stacy, "I can't use a business check because we need two authorized signatures and I am the only person here with an authorized signature. How can we work this out?" She was very polite and put me on hold for several minutes. The man that picked up the phone started our conversation with: "So, you don't have enough money to pay for this service?" I thought he was bantering so I laughed and said, "I guess not." He said, "So you mean to tell me that you engaged our company for business and now you don't have enough money to pay." I said, "Are you serious right now?" At this point, I had already grabbed my personal card so that I could just pay and get reimbursed later. He said, "Do you think you could use your personal credit card if the company has enough money to reimburse you?" He put Stacy back on the phone and she was very apologetic and helpful. I have never been spoken to this way in business before. I wasn't asking for a free service, I was simply looking for how we could resolve the issue. Unfortunately, no matter how wonderful Bob and Stacy were, it is very hard to look past the lack of basic courtesy to recommend or use this business again.

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had if you are getting a headliner done on your car do not bring it here first off it took a week for the material to come then it took a week for them to schedule me to come into do the repair then they took a week to repair it when I finally arrived to pick up my car I did the stupid thing paying first and not inspecting the job when I did get into the car and checked my sunroof it was broke not working they told me they had to order a part for me to come back when the part arrived it took another two weeks for the part to arrive. When I drop the car off they held it for two days then called me and said the piece they bought to fix the car came broke they have to order another piece I waited a whole month they kept giving me the run around about finding a new part finally I had enough and threaten to report them to the better business bureau and they told me if I can find the part they are willing to pay for it I found the part immediately on eBay for only 100 dollars u mean to tell me I waited a whole month and y'all could of found the part the same way I did smh finally when the part arrived I brought the car in on a Wednesday assuming my car will be there first priority I still haven't received my car back and it's been a week every time I call the mechanic that's working on my issue is out sick so basically I been trying to get this simple headliner changed for three months now smh I just want to be done with this company one thing good I can say they are very polite you ever heard the expression robbing u with a smile ..

Good quality work, but the experience was not great. When I made the appointment on the Wednesday prior to the service, we agreed to put down a deposit so they could order the glass. To give them time for the glass to be delivered, we agreed that I would drop the car off on Monday. This was agreed with the shop. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this, but was told when I arrived that the glass was not yet here. I understand that there are delays in delivery, but this was not communicated until I arrived for the appointment. When it came time to pick the car up, it was suddenly disclosed to me that the car still needs windshield calibration at an outside shop or the dealer. The implication when I dropped the car off was that the job would be fully done by Smith Auto Glass. There was no mention of the calibration requirement until pickup, when the job was done. The shop staff implied that this was something I should have known, but frankly, it should be made clear at drop-off that I'd be on the hook for additional charges at the dealer or an outside shop. In all, this experience leaves a bitter taste in my mouth; the workmanship was fine, but I will probably choose to go elsewhere next time.

I came to Smith auto based on a referral. I was told as I dropped off our bench seat that the cost was only 300 dollars and they would completely re sew new material on the entire bottom of the bench seat. A week later when i went to pick up the bench seat. Frank told me my boss was a jerk and the new price was 394 dollars. They only repaired the one small section of the bench seat, not rhe entire bottom cover they said they were. Instead of offering to make it right they hurried me up to pay and sent me out to my truck to wait for them to load the seat. Upon loading up 2 of their workers dropped the bench on the street and scuffed the new material. Also did not apologize. Frank or whoever the front counter guy is a lying businessman. This company has been in business for 55 years. I dont see 56 in the future if they continue to treat customers the way we were. I will not recommend their work to anyone based on my experience.

My car was broken into and the glass on the driver's side door was smashed. At about 8:40 I called around to a few places and found Smith had the lowest price. They also had an appointment at 10:45. I brought the car in and waited for it. The work was done in less than an hour and I was able to do work in the waiting area using the free wifi. Once the car was finished, I asked if I could get a discount if I paid in cash. They were able to knock a small amount off that probably just covered the credit fees. When I paid the woman behind the counter said they didn't have change for a 20, but they still honored the cash price. The work they did looks great and I have no complaints. Hopefully I won't have to get glass replaced again, but if I have to I know where I'm going to go.

I just want to take the time to say thank you to the whole staff including Iris. they went above and beyond to help out my son who is from Springfield mass. he was involved in an accident that required him to get his window fixed and side mirror. the staff made an extra effort to get him the parts he needed to be on his way. I am happy to say he was back on the road within two hours. they knew my son was not from the area so they decided to give him and his friends a ride to get lunch while the repair was being done. Iris also called me three times to update me on how things were going. that type of kindness goes a long way with me . I hope people read this review and realize that they will be dealing with real quality people at smith glass. thank you so much! awesome service!

I would highly recommend this place for any kind of car windshield repair. I had to have the windshield completely replaced and Smith’s was very professional and had great customer service. Fred was very personable and knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout the day. For parking even though they have no lot, there is plenty of parking space available on the side of the road. Their hours fluctuate and from when I asked they are open all week from 8am-2pm, but aren’t open on weekends. They did a great job and will go back if I need anything else done.
