🚨 **Warning to Kansas City Residents: Beware of Discount Auto Glass in Merriam, KS!** 🚨 I feel compelled to share my recent experience with Discount Auto Glass after an unfortunate incident that has left me not only frustrated but also significantly out of pocket. As many of you know, our community in Shawnee, KS was hit hard by severe hail back in March. The storm was so unprecedented, with hailstones the size of baseballs wreaking havoc on our vehicles that our videos & story was featured on KSHB 41, CNN & The Weather Channel. Among the damages, my son’s Elantra suffered a shattered moonroof just three weeks after he purchased it. In a hurry to prevent further damage, we turned to Discount Auto Glass for a repair. They quickly installed a new sunroof, and we paid for the service, keeping the receipt for our insurance claim. With multiple vehicles needing attention, we took our time to ensure each was addressed carefully. Fast forward four months to a sunny day when my son attempted to open his sunroof. To our shock, it made a horrible crunching sound and almost detached while he was driving on the highway. He pulled over and contacted me, and I instructed him to take the car to a local dealership for an inspection. When I called Discount Auto Glass to report the issue, they asked us to bring the car in. However, upon my arrival, the owner dismissed my concerns, claiming they were not responsible for any damages caused by leftover broken glass in the tracks during the installation. He rudely insisted that cleaning the debris was not part of their service and advised me to seek help from a dealership. The dealership assessed the situation and informed me that the accumulated glass had damaged critical mechanisms, leading to an estimated repair cost of over $900. They couldn’t believe that they put the sunroof down right on top of all of that shattered glass without cleaning it out. Feeling frustrated, I returned to Discount Auto Glass to relay this information, only to be met with hostility and dismissal. The owner belittled me, even referring to me as "woman," and yelled at me to leave his shop. In an effort to seek reimbursement, I filed a claim with my credit card company. Unfortunately, Discount Auto Glass contested the claim so aggressively that it ultimately expired, leaving me without any protection or recourse. Now, I’m facing a loss of $600 paid to them and an additional $900 to repair the damage caused by their negligence. I urge everyone in Shawnee and the surrounding Kansas City area to think twice before using Discount Auto Glass. Their lack of professionalism, kindness, and accountability is alarming. My hope in sharing this is to prevent others from going through a similar ordeal. Please be cautious and do your research before trusting this company with your vehicle repairs. This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had !!!! I called for a price on a windshield and gave them my vehicle information multiple time and after agreeing on the price I was given an appointment for 3:30pm. when I get there nobody is at the front desk so we had to wait for 15 to 20 minutes. when the guy finally gets there he has the worst attitude and and again ask for the make and model of the vehicle. they ask for the keys and after a while take it in to the shop. one of the employee removes the glass ( only had two quarter size chips on it) and throws it in a dumpster. About 45 minutes later the manager tells us that we gave them the wrong year so the windshield they had does not fit it, so we have to leave the vehicle and it will get changed next day. We inform the manager that this vehicle is our only means of transportation so how would we get home, to which he replied " that we would have to find a way home". I asked to speak to a manager which he also stated that he was the manager and that we needed to hurry up and decide because he had work to do and if I had an issue to call that number I called at first. I called the number and spoke with Brandon in accounting, whom was extremely rude and hung up on me several times and would not let me explain my situation. While speaking with Brandon the individual at the shop took the windshield out of the dumpster ( now completely shattered ) and re glued it on my vehicle. the manager walked up to us and said "here are your keys we put the windshield back on, you can go home now, and If you want come back tomorrow, by the way the windshield is going to be more expensive because it is a different year. Brandon In customer service also said he had two options for me either come back tomorrow and change the glass or go somewhere else. like I said the worst experience ever as a customer. Had my windshield replaced yesterday. Upon getting back into my car, I noticed my headliner was not seated property on the driver's side, the wire for my remote start was significantly pulled out (as oppressed to being neatly tucked into the pillar), and the keyless remote start module was just hanging. When I went back in to say"hey, something's not right." I was informed that there was nothing they could as it's a 3rd party item. Then I rebutted with I've had my windshield replaced twice prior and no issue. After a little back and forth (unprofessional), the guy said "ok, I have an idea." His quick fix was to literally place a piece of double sided tape onto the module, in hopes of securing it to the windshield. Nevermind all that wire now exposed from the pillar. Furthermore, his quick fix was ineffective and literally came off before I pulled out of the parking lot. The tape they used to secure my windshield (that's supposed to stay on for 24hrs), also did not stick. Hopefully, this too will not be an issue.

My boyfriend just had his car serviced here - his passenger side window essentially fell down and wouldn't roll back up, even after he tried to fix it himself. He is not one to leave reviews but I was super impressed with this company and thought it was important to leave a review highlighting the great service he had! He found Discount Auto Glass through Google. They gave an extremely reasonable price for his car to just be looked at and had an open appointment the next day. It was within the hour of the appointment that they called my boyfriend and explain to him what the issue was, how long it would take to fix, and how much it would be. The price to fix with all expenses included was also VERY reasonable! My boyfriend decided to leave his car with Discount Auto Glass over the weekend. He just picked it up as it was done by early afternoon Monday (He dropped it off Friday). It was a fast, painless and efficient process, all thanks to Auto Glass!ServicesAuto side window replacement

I came in for a windshield they left broken glass in my vehicle they left black stuff on one of my pillars and the other looked as if a cat scratched it they gave me a number to call so that they can fix the other pillar and i was also told it didn't look bad well if it didn't look bad how did i notice it then....that was Friday so Monday I took it back after looking at my sister's who has the same vehicle and after going to a body shop and noticed other things... the young fella said he had 7 months of experience which I should've left then I am so disappointed and all I wanted them to do was rectify the situation but all they did was make excuses of its after market that shouldn't matter it still should have been centered in the middle just like it was...... I even called and made a complaint...so im going to see how this plays out... word of advice read the reviews before you go somewhere to spend your hard earned money

If I Could Give zero stars I would. Terrible customer service. There’s a bunch of young kids running the grounds w/no respect to business, customer or doing what’s best for the gain of returning customers. When I got here the kid Elijah was very nasty and unwilling to be customer friendly. I called and made a complaint even prior to service to get someone on the phone (an adult). After he was confronted about the bad service he was displaying. He then came very rudely to my car and confronted me about complaining on him. If I’m not mistaken. He called me a name when walking off. Ending results are - I decided to spend my money and time elsewhere. I came here a couple years ago for a rock chip. I’d say the outcome of bad service is the customer not returning! ADD IT UP!

They broke off all my clips for my cowl plate and didn’t tell me if I would t have looked my car over they would have just let me drive off and then they made me go and run to try to find them because they were too lazy to their selves. They left urethane hanging off of my window in my car and two different places and it’s still hanging even after he ripped it off And it’s also on the outside of my window when I get a window replaced I should not have to clean my own window after they put it in they should have to clean it. I am very, very unhappy with them and I hope that no one else ever goes to them again The manager was very very rude, and the employees are very, very lazy and they’re all very disrespectful!!!!!! Definitely do not recommend at all!!!!

These guys were quick to respond with an online quote for a windshield replacement. It was about $200 cheaper than anywhere else I had looked into. They got me in within a couple of days, the replacement process was quicker than expected including the recalibration of all of the Lane Assist sensors, and about a month after the replacement when my rearview mirror popped off, I was able to stop by the same day I called and they remounted it at no charge in between other jobs they were doing even though it was obvious they were quite busy. The look of the place may be a little rough, but don't let that deter you. They did great work at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be going back if the need arises.

Went to get my windshield replaced, opted to wait inside, was done in under an hour. They moved my oil change sticker to the new windshield which was nice. They charged like half of what everybody else was trying to, so I'll definitely be a repeat customer! (But also hopefully not, I don't want to replace my windshield again) It was kinda difficult to find a place to park but that may have just been a busy time. Edit to add: there was a lady that was very upset about her window leaking when I went in but after a week and some rain I have no complaints! Edit 2: 3 years later and it’s still good!

I don’t normally leave 1 stars, but the customer service was so rude on the phone that I change my mind and decided to not get windshield replacement from this place. Perhaps the gentleman on the phone didn’t have a good day. His tone was very rude and disrespectful from the very beginning. He should not have answered customers call if he wasn’t feeling well. I got disrespected and I didn’t even say anything. All I asked was to schedule for an appointment for the quote that I received online through the website. One sentence came out of my mouth and got yelled at. Very disappointed.
