All Star Auto Glass was recommended to me by the owner of the auto repair shop that I rely on to keep my 2000 Saturn LW2 station wagon running. I have been dealing with a leak on the driver's side that has resulted in a soaked floor and floormat and later an electrical problem that resulted in rough shifting. Upon arrival at All Star, I was greeted warmly, and my car was soon moved to the entrance of the shop bay in order to pour water over the windshield to determine the source of the leak. After a few minutes, it was apparent that the windshield was not leaking, so the technician recommended that I return to the auto repair shop to check for other reasons, such as the roof rack. As he was finishing up, a woman came out to write down my vehicle's VIN, and then I was directed to see her at the front counter. Since all that was done was pour some water over the windshield for a few minutes, and since the source of the leak was not found, I was ready to thank the technician and be on my way. However, upon engaging with the woman at the counter, she input some information, printed out an invoice, and said that I owed $52.43. I literally gasped when I heard that. I figured that if they wanted to charge something, it might be $10 or $15 for the short time that was spent, especially since the reason for the leak was not found even though the mechanics at the auto repair shop had previously done something similar and hadn't charged me anything. They thought that the leak was coming from the top of the windshield on the driver's side, but the All Star Auto Glass technician couldn't replicate that result. When I questioned the woman at the counter, she said that it was a standard diagnostic fee. Upon examining the receipt, it showed an evaluation charge of $45 followed by "Other Fees" in the amount of $4, plus the sales tax. While I have no complaint about the way that I was treated or about the work that was done, I take issue with being charged that much for a few minutes of watering my windshield and then telling me to go to an auto repair shop to determine the source of the leak. I left feeling very unhappy and still didn't know why my car leaked when exposed to heavy rain. I'm sure that All Star Auto Glass does a fine job of replacing windshields, and I probably have no right to complain, but the experience left a very sour taste in my mouth. For me, that was a lot to pay for a few minutes' time that didn't result in anything definitive. UPDATE: As a follow-up to my first review, which you can see above, I took my car back to my usual auto repair shop to check again for the source of the water leak into my car's cabin on the driver's side. The technicians there verified the location where water was coming in, and it was the same place as the first time. I considered trying to seal the leak myself but soon thought better of it and called All Star Auto Glass last Friday. I had the pleasure of being helped by Eric, the owner of the shop. He explained all the options for me and agreed to apply the diagnostic fee that I had paid to whatever the repair would cost. He made an appointment for me on Monday morning, June 30, and everything went very smoothly. I was kept updated throughout the process, and the quality of the work done was excellent. Even though I was hoping not to have to pay for a new windshield, that's what was required in the end, and I'm happy with it. The world looks so much clearer now! In conclusion, Eric and his staff at All Star Auto Glass are professional yet caring, the quality of their work is excellent, and it comes with a lifetime warranty against issues resulting from any installation errors.

If you are looking for great service that is fast and polite, you found it. We cracked the front windshield of our 2019 Jeep jku during vacation in Colorado. When we arrived back home we contacted Eric about the crack and size. He was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to our specific windshield. He explained why this style window is prone to cracking more than most and on top of that he recommended a glass for my Jeep that would help with the issue. We went with an option made by Gorilla Glass. He explained the benefits of it and gave us a quote we couldn’t refuse. Eric ordered the glass over the weekend and installed it first thing Monday morning. Their shop is professional and the finish product was seamless and I’m the kind of guy that walks around and looks at the workmanship. You can tell from start to finish Eric and his All Star Auto glass takes pride in what he does and at a great price. Do yourself a favor, if you have a rock chip or cracked window, go here first and you won’t need to waste your time looking around. Meet Eric or his team and you will not be worried about your car or leaving it in their care. Thank you Eric and All Star Auto Glass. Will recommend to family and friends. Ps, if you have a Jeep look into Gorilla Glass and get ahold of Eric you will not be disappointed.

Got my windshield replaced about 9 months ago due to a bunch of rock chips, just the other day the replaced window developed a crack in it due to unknown issues, All Star Auto Glass replaced it for free for me because it was most likely damaged when shipped and it just now revealed itself. The crack originated in the base of the windshield where it’s a black area and that's why they would not have caught it originally before installing. The crack was in the inside layers of the glass as well. It was no hassle and they had the windshield replaced the very next day from when I went in, service was quick, and the owner is super friendly. Would take my business there again and would recommend to anyone. I believe that their price is a little better the safelite too.PositivePunctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Very pleased from start to finished windshield replacement. Spoke with Cindy last Wednesday about replacing a cracked windshield. Windshield was in on Friday and scheduled for the replacement today. Another Ames shop said it could take 2-3 hours to finish, Cindy said should be finished within a couple hours. To my surprise, I was called about 1 ½ hours after dropping off my car, saying it was ready. It required to be recalibrate due to cameras/sensors, so thought it would take longer. Great customer service, great price and great professional installation. Read the reviews before choosing a shop to fix/replace your windshield, that works best for you. Definitely recommend All Star Auto Glass.

Cannot recommend All Star Auto Glass enough! Their estimate was exactly the price I paid to get my windshield fixed. The staff are straightforward, kind, and very welcoming. All Star Auto Glass’ team are thorough with their work and get things done in a timely manner. Their prices are more than fair and their service is top notch. Thank you, All Star Auto Glass, for taking care of my windshield and making me feel comfortable in a space I know nothing about. As someone in their 20s and not being vehicle savvy in the slightest, I couldn’t have gone to a better shop. I look forward to utilizing this business for any of my auto glass needs in the future. :)

I would like to preface this by saying I do not usually leave reviews. I felt obligated to write a review of All Star Auto Glass because of the great experience I had. I had originally called in to get two chips on my windshield repaired and I was given a very reasonable quote. When I went in to get these repaired the guy was very honest about the severity of these chips and how they were a very simple repair. I ended up getting these repaired at a much lower cost than originally quoted and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend All Star Auto Glass to anyone who needs any auto glass work done.ServicesAuto windshield repair

Update: Eric reached out to me, and went above and beyond to make things right. They care about the good reputation they've earned and it shows. Context: We had a side window replaced on a Chevy Malibu and the installation quality wasn't great. I left a review and the owner Eric called me to get the info - he was super nice, explained what happened while not excusing it, and offered to resolve the issue. Even before he called to resolve the issues with the installation, I was still very happy with the price and speed.ServicesInstallation, Auto side window replacementPrice assessmentGreat price

Hands down one of the best glass repair services out there. My windshield got obliterated by a 2x4. Eric was able to not only order me a replacement but install it same day. Eric was super happy to help me and had terrific customer service, he went above and beyond with helping me. The 2x4 broke my rear-view mirror stand and he not only had a temporarily put on but is getting a factory mirror as well. Every employee should strive to be like him and I am truly satisfied with the service here!ServicesInstallation, Auto windshield repair

I had my rear windshield replaced but in August 2022 after a hail storm and was very impressed with the service I should've left a 5 star review then. Yesterday without warning I closed my car door and the rear windshield shattered I called all star and explained the situation they had a replacement ready to install the next day. I was expecting to pay for labor at least or for the entire install but there was 0 charge they really do stand behind their work I highly recommend All Star Auto Glass!ServicesAuto rear window replacement

I stopped in their store to make an appointment to fix a rock chip in my windshield and much to my surprise, I didn't need one. They got my truck in and within 15 or so minutes it was completed and I was on my way. Excellent customer service and excellent work on the windshield done at a very reasonable price compared to other companies in the Ames area. I will definitely share my experience with others and highly recommend All Star Auto Glass. I will be back if the need arises. Thanks!!
