What a scam this company is. First they sent the wrong window and left not informing us of what was going on. Then tell us the window we need is going to be $770 instead of the $360. Obviously we canceled. I called up a company called Glass America and they are coming tomorrow and this same window is going to cost us $308.

First of all, there is a big disconnect between their customer service and their shops. Secondly, this is the second time I’ve had a windshield replaced with Safelite and both replacements had issues that sent me back to the shop. With this current visit, my windshield wipers were not put back together correctly and the gasket/trim piece around the windshield completely came off the car the day after the windshield replacement. When I called first thing Monday morning, I was told they needed to order the part and made an appointment for me to return on Wednesday. When I returned no one had ordered the part and no one knew what was going on. Such a waste of time since the place is a little less than 30 minutes from my house. They also told me at the shop that this repair could also be done at home. I am extremely frustrated that the customer service did not tell me that I could have this repair done at home and did not tell the shop to order the part. I called customer service this morning and expressed my deep dissatisfaction and frustration. They basically did nothing. He said he sent an email to the shop manager and the shop manager would get back to me. There is no one to take any responsibility nor is there anyone to tell you that a part hasn’t been ordered and to not waste your time and gas driving there.

I visited Safelite in Niantic on May 1st, 2025, for a windshield replacement. While the service itself was fine and the employees I interacted with were polite and professional, the condition of the waiting area was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, there was no employee at the front desk—you have to ring a bell to be helped. What really stood out was the poor cleanliness of the facility. The floors and carpets in the waiting room were filthy, and the coffee tables hadn’t been wiped down in what looked like quite some time. The restroom was also unclean, and even worse, there was a large ant nest visible on the floor near the entryway. It gave the impression that routine cleaning and maintenance are being seriously neglected. While I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the glass replacement itself, the condition of the customer area made for a very uncomfortable experience. I hope management addresses these issues soon, as they take away from an otherwise solid service.

Excellent job from their technician "Luke" with his professionalism and work on my full windshield replacement on my vehicle this evening. This was my first time ever seeing a full windshield replacement on a vehicle and I have to say Luke was on point in explaining the process and completing the work. Thanks Luke👍 UPDATE... I have never changed my reviews unless the company has come through positively. BUT there is always an exception, the sad part of it is that Safelite is supposed to be a reputable company.. I had a very good experience with the local technician Luke ID #1871-259 and he was very informative on the installation of a car windshield. That was my first experience. Unfortunately, he did not have the new windshield wipers for my order #01871_865387 at the time of installation and deducted each wiper off @34.99 bringing the payment to $369.17. I paid that amount on his smartphone and received a receipt via text. Two hours later that payment was cancelled by Safelite and I was then charged on my card the full price for the order $439.15 without the wiper blades ,without any explanation or email from Safelite. I reached out the next day on 6/27/25 at 9:03 a.m. and spoke to June in Safelite customer service and she sent an email to the office manager in Niantic, Connecticut, Clarice, where Luke works from about this situation in why I was charged the full price without any wipers or even an explanation. It is 3:23 pm Saturday 6/28/25 and I have not heard or read any email from this office about any resolution. UPDATE 2... As of this update, it is August 4, 2025 and I have not received any correspondence concerning an resolution for this poor means of customer service from Safelite. Are you kidding me?. Safelite? The brand with the numerous commercials and giving consumers the notion that you provide exceptional customer service. I do not need the wipers now, I want a refund for the wipers for which I was charged for and NEVER received.. Final Update.... 8/14/25 Thanks to Ms. Pereksta at Safelite Customer Service, The Better Business Bureau of Connecticut and the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio, where Safelite Headquarters is based out of, I was able to obtain my refund $74.42 for the wipers that I NEVER received from their Satellite office in Niantic, Connecticut. They tried to charge us double the price we were quoted online. When we showed them the quote they claimed it didn't include labor, when we showed them it says parts and labor included they tried to make another excuse. It took going back and forth with them several times to get them to honor the original price. Once we left we found out that they double charged our card anyway. We are now going through the dispute process with our credit card company. The whole experience felt like one big scam, avoid this place at all costs.
