Up until today I’ve never had an issue with Safelite. Had an appointment today for a windshield replacement. The tech asked if I could move my truck into the driveway, which I did. I asked him not to block my other vehicle in (an emergency vehicle). He became rude and asked me what he was supposed to do. All he had to do was pull up a few feet. He’d have had easy access to his tools and I’d have had access to my other vehicle. Instead he threw his hands up and drive off. When I called the office they said that he told them he was never rude and suggested I was at fault. They’re getting 4 stars because their office staff and manager did acknowledge my frustration and worked to ensure my windshield would get fixed same day. I was happy to adjust my schedule due to their customer service. Hopefully this technician will be corrected on his actions and learn to provide better customer service.

I needed a new windshield. My insurance uses Safelight. The first time I called, the estimate was $1500. I decided to wait. Then, Safelight..com kept sending me emails. I received an estimate for under $800. I decided to move forward. The windshield was replaced. The next morning, I noticed a crack. I took it in to be exchanged for warranty work. The technician that replaced the windshield looked at it and then moved my car wash sticker out of the way. "We can't cover this," he says. There is an impact right here. I didn't drive anywhere. I lived 4 minutes from my work on 35 mph roads. He knew exactly where to look under a sticker. Sure enough, they charged me another $800 to replace the windshield that I believe they were trying to cover up the crack that occurred during install. I don't know what kind of tools are used to install a windshield. It seems like it was a tool trying to tap in the corner or something that caused the crack. Then, covered it up with a sticker. This was smaller than any rock chip I've seen but happened to be on the driver side corner. Be careful with this company. They got their money out of me one way or another.

When thur online process to buy my truck glass answered all questions made appointment. Show up early for my appointment and I am told that system only charged me for middle glass 625 that outer rear glass will be over 1000.00. I cancelled appointment and called customer service indeed system had glass incorrect but real price was not over 1000 but 800. Waited 5 days for refund and next appointment was 2 weeks out. Lost my time and stress because of them. I found a licensed company to Install at my place of business for only 575 OEM glass .

A rock hit my windshield and I called my insurance, which uses Safelite as their preferred windshield repair/replacement service. I was connected with safelite within minutes and had an appointment for them to come to my home the same day, within 2 hours. The tech was friendly and professional. The work was completed in 5 minutes, all While my vehicle was in my garage. I’ve used safelite for decades now and wouldn’t choose another service to repair or replace my windshield. I highly recommend them when this unfortunate accident occurs. Exceptional service as always.

I gave you a 1-star rating because, frankly, my experience didn’t even deserve that much. I called your company twice and explained my issue in detail. I was told the calls were being recorded and that “a manager would get back to me.” However, months have passed and no one has followed up. Now, under my review, you’ve simply responded with “we're sorry.” Honestly, this response feels far from professional. Let me clearly explain what happened: After my car windshield was damaged, I contacted my insurance provider, and they referred me to your company for the replacement. The official email I received from my insurer clearly stated that I would owe $472.15. Trusting this amount, I scheduled an appointment through Safelite. On the day of the appointment, the technician arrived at my home and, before starting the work, told me I had to pay $570. I showed him the insurance email confirming the $472.15 amount, but he simply said, “I’m just a technician, I don’t know.” Since I urgently needed to hit the road that day, I reluctantly paid the higher amount. After the windshield replacement, the technician said he couldn’t perform the calibration at my home and that I would need to drive to El Paso — about a 3-hour drive from my home. This was never mentioned beforehand. I asked twice whether there would be any additional charge for the calibration. The technician said, “The $570 you paid includes the calibration; there will be no additional payment in El Paso.” Because of my previous experience that day, I asked again. To reassure me, the technician called your company in front of me and confirmed with a representative that “there will be no additional charges.” Based on that assurance, I drove to El Paso. However, when I arrived at your El Paso center, I was asked to pay an additional $110. I showed the $570 invoice — which, as both the technician and your company stated, already included the calibration. I even gave the technician’s name and told them they could call to verify my story. The staff member reviewed my invoice and initially agreed: “You don’t need to pay anything further. The calibration was already paid for.” But just minutes later, at the time of vehicle pickup, I was again asked to pay the $110. Even though I had just been told otherwise, I was forced to pay the additional charge just to get my car back. After all this, I called your company two more times, explaining the situation in full. Again, I was told a manager would contact me. No one ever did. Given how clearly documented and verified this entire situation is, it’s disappointing that your only response is “we’re sorry.” This experience caused me loss of time, money, and trust. I’m writing this review so that others don’t go through the same frustration I did. I also believe this matter deserves legal review due to how it was handled.

This place is garbage. The tech came over to replace my back window on a Mini Cooper S. After about 2 hours he rings my doorbell and says, “I have bad news for you partner”. He proceeds to tell me he shattered the new replacement window. They apparently don’t have anymore in stock. He tells me its going to take about another week to get a new window in and that someone would be emailing me with the details. He puts saran wrap around the back window and leaves. Doesn’t put any of the body parts back on the car. Nothing. Later on that day I try and open the trunk to take pictures of the mess he made, and now my trunk doesn’t open. Horrible experience. Never again!
