I am beyond frustrated with the experience of getting my windshield replaced. I understand that mistakes happen, but having to take multiple mornings off work just to be told—again—that they either don’t have the correct windshield or that the one they received is damaged is completely unacceptable. The first time, I was patient. Things happen. But for it to happen twice? That’s ridiculous. On top of that, I’ve spent money on Uber rides to use their drop-off service, only to end up wasting my time and money for nothing. If you promise a service, make sure you have the right parts before asking customers to drop off their vehicle. At this point, I have no confidence in their ability to get it right, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless they enjoy unnecessary delays, frustration, and extra costs.

My windshield was replaced in December. It started raining and the rain was leaking through the sides. I contacted them to have my window resealed, they sent someone out to fix the issue. When he was fixing the issue the window cracked. He replaced the windshield with a new one. However, the next morning when I went to drive my vehicle my rear view mirror was dangling. Then I noticed some scratches on my panel, not to mention he also scratched the paint on the sides where the window was. I took it in to the office immediately. The manager stated he will order me a new panel. He fixed my mirror, then stated he will speak to the tech about what happened. Never mentioned anything about the paint. So hopefully when he calls me to replace the panel he has some info on my paint. My car is new and had no scratches before he replaced the window. I really don’t want to go to small claims court about this. So hopefully they correct the issue.

I would give negative stars if I could. DO NOT take your vehicle to this location. That do shoddy work and do not care. I had my windshield replaced a year ago by this location of Safelite only to find they put the wrong size windshield in AND improperly installed it. This caused a leak which could not be seen until a year later when almost $7000 of damage was done to my 2022 Tacoma. It had to be taken all the way down to the metal and I had to pay for Servpro to come out because of all the mold and mildew I had been breathing for a year. I gave Chris the chance to make this right he wanted to replace the windshield I told him no you already proved unable to do that job. He sat in my truck and said “I don’t smell anything we can have it detailed and the carpets dried.” Well Chris I’m sure you’d be perfectly ok with a family member breathing mold spores but I’m not. I ended up having to file a comprehensive claim against Safelite to have the work done right. Now I have mold and mildew on my car fax seriously people it is NOT worth it!

Unfortunately, my experience with this Safelite location was disappointing. A technician came to repair a small chip in my windshield while the vehicle was parked in direct sunlight, with the glass measuring over 180°F. In an effort to cool it down to 80°F for resin application, he applied cold water on a towel directly to the hot glass—despite there being a shaded area available in my driveway. As anyone with basic knowledge of glass or thermodynamics would expect, the sudden temperature change caused the chip to spread into a large crack. When I contacted customer service to express my concerns, I was met with pushback rather than support. I’ve since involved my insurance provider, who is now handling the matter seriously. I expected more care, professionalism, and accountability from a company with Safelite’s reputation.

So, my dad went through safelite to get his windshield replaced. That is where problems began. Both him and my stepmom are in their 60s and are in a very rural area. So my dad goes to get into his truck and the first thing he notices is that the seal for the windshield is completely uneven and set unproffessionally. No clue if the seal for the windshield is even good and if you don't know, north carolina is plenty rainy. Then when he gets into his vehicle, he realizes that the safelite tech completely drained his truck battery, essentially leaving them stranded at their rural home. This is very problematic as my stepmom is chronically I'll and dying, so of they had not known this battery issue, then if something were to happen, my stepmom would be in more trouble. Moral of the story is that maybe people should avoid safelite around Mt. Pleasant ,NC.

Bad experience from the beginning to the end. I took my car in for a 30 minute service to fix a windshield chip. After over an hour I asked for an update to learn they forgot about me. I chose to leave because no manager came out to let me know it would only take a few minutes. Additionally, the shop was dirty and unprofessional in general. I rescheduled to have a tech come to my home (which is why I know it only takes 10 minutes)... It took 10 minutes for them to turn my pea sized chip into a $1000 windshield replacement. Note: if your chip is within 6 inches of the edge, you're better off letting it fail... Or you can let them speed that up for you. Literally... Thanks for nothing!
