I had a small crack in my windshield. Calling Safelite now sends you to an international hotline. Since I'm traveling out of state the out-of-country support had a difficult time setting up for an appt in another state than where I live. Eventually they claimed to have it set up so I would get a callback from the local shop within 24hrs. I was not able to just call and set up an appointment. I was not able to speak with anyone at the local shop. And I never got a call back. So I called a couple of other places and ended up at Clarity Auto Glass. - Clarity Auto Glass service was quick. An appt. was easy and their price was lower. You can read my review there.

I’ll be so honest, I had no problems at first. The windshield repairman came to my house at the time stated. He filled in my chip and explained that it would still be the slightest bit visible since it was a fill-in and not a total replacement. Okay perfect, no problem whatsoever. The guy did a great job and was very professional. My problem came when I was sent an email from Safelite 3 months later saying my bill had not been paid and I would be sent to collections if it wasn’t paid within the next few weeks. Well that’s odd because I have a $0 comprehensive deductible and it should have been paid for by my insurance. Here’s the kicker, no matter what phone number you call, whether it be the 816 or the 1-800, you can only talk to robots!!! No matter what I said to the robot, no matter what buttons I pushed, I couldn’t get a human on the phone! And the same goes for email. Finally I just called my insurance who told me I had no open claims & that my claim from the windshield crack had been paid and closed 3 months ago when I filed it! Thank god Statefarm was able to contact them and get it figured out because there was no possible way for me to do it without having to show up in person at this location. So to anyone who is needing a new windshield, don’t go through this sleazy company. I have taken all my future business & will recommend any and every body to go to Binswanger Glass in Gladstone. They are 1000% more reliable than this shady business.

A very poor experience. Our trucks were broken into. Contacted the insurance company and they recommended Safelite. They even booked the appointment. That was real nice. However, the technician came to the house (on time) and stated he couldn’t vacuum all the glass out of the door. He also said he didn’t have a vacuum. I let him use the my shop vac but he said I would need to take the truck to a body shop to get all the glass vacuumed out of the door. The second truck he worked on, he said the same…then he didn’t put the door panel on correctly. Plus running the window up and down it made a noise. He again said if I wanted it fixed properly I would need to take the truck to a body shop. There was nothing wrong with the body of the car. If Safelite can’t resolve the issue then Why is it an option for the insurance company. Very poor service

I'm usually very positive when it comes to reviews, but I can't help to noticed how bad of a service they offered. My wife had a minor crack windshield and wanted to replace it, so she scheduled replacements with them couple weeks ago and had an home appointment last Monday (June 12). However they called the day of the appointment and cancel it due to "back ordered" and wanted to reschedule for the following Wednesday. On Wednesday they cancelled the appointment, again because it was raining on they area and it wasn't on our area. My wife being patience asked if she could just come in to their shop. They scheduled her to come in at 12:30pm and or our way there they called and told her that they "couldn't find the windshield" and wanted to reschedule, again, but she told them that we are almost to their shop so they said go ahead and come in, they'll see what they can do. Left the car there and we were told that they would give us a call and it'll take about an hour. Waited over two hours and no call "we" decided to call instead, and was told it was ready (no call for confirmation).

Everything was great, serviced by Jesse from Chicago and he did amazing. He had some previous experience in body work with vehicles, was able to notify me about any structural problems from removing some aesthetic parts of my vehicle to get to the glass. Felt informed and like i could trust his input. However, was very frustrated as my $252 estimate from Safelites website for my 2011 Acura Tl, was off by about $60, as it turned into $309. Even the cost of the glass was different when Jesse presented me the charge, totaling to about $265. When it comes to car costs, I save up for the inevitable, so It was no worry for me to pay the additional $60. However, for someone just getting by, it might be. Despite my ease in its addition, I was frustrated a discrepancy like that was present. Safelite projects the idea of organized and together, given their size. Why would they not be able to present an accurate estimate? When I get my car serviced with a mom and pop, their estimates are accurate and succinct. Suddenly, the competing prices in my area made since, as they were often around 300-330. It makes me think Safelite is too good to be true. It makes me wonder that they don't want to be truthful with their estimates as to appear better than their competition. Jesse could only say "yeah they have a +taxes part that people usually miss". I think it's disappointing, and it makes me think twice about seeking their services again. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to account for local taxes, given the advancements in their site and modern standards with presenting that information before labor is done.

I am writing to express my frustration with the lack of communication regarding the error associated with the recalibration of my vehicle. The technician informed me that they would notify me upon receiving the necessary part. However, over a month has passed, and despite numerous calls to Safelite, I have yet to receive a response from the actual store that serviced my vehicle. My car continues to display an error message, with no expected completion date in sight. This level of service is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend Safelite for windshield replacement services when recalibration is required. As it stands, I am forced to hire a babysitter and then drive 45 minutes to the store in hopes that the issue can be resolved, due to their failure to communicate.
