I made an appointment the night before at 11:30pm. They scheduled me the next day at 9:30 am. Was done by 11:00 am. I compared the seals and gaps with the photos I took of my car right before the windshield replacement from the outside. Looks identical. However there was a major problem. The windshield would fog up as soon as it started to rain. My old windshield never did that. Plus the installer messed up my wipers by not covering them up during installation so the cleaners or chemicals they used made the wipers get hard and chatter. I had to buy new wipers. I called the shop back and complained about the foggy windshield. They said they would fix it. The person who answered the phone that day told me there was nothing available in terms of appointments for the following day which was Friday. Because he said that I agreed to schedule an appointment for the following Friday, seven days later. I was not happy with this at all nor did I believe the gentleman who was telling me this on the phone. I then called the Safelite 800 number to schedule an appointment for the very following day. I asked the The operator who picked up if they had any openings available for the very following day and they told me that their whole entire schedule was free from opening time until closing time I could choose any time that I wanted to. It seems that the person who answered my phone call at the shop lie to me. Probably because he knew he was working that day and did not want to do a free job. I scheduled my appointment took my car in and had the windshield resealed. Even though the shop claimed that there was nothing wrong with the original seal, interestingly enough the window never fogged up again because of rain ever since they redid the glass. However my wipers are now chattering again after only having them been installed for about two weeks. I told the gentleman on the phone that I had new wipers and for them to not mess it up. He assured me that nothing would happen to my wipers at all. Apparently that is not the case because now I have to spend another $35 to buy another set of wipers within three weeks apart. Tobias was the person who did my windshield the first time, and also the second time for the warranty replacement. Awful job.

The technical repair was not the problem. The lack of communication was. I was on time for my 11:00am appointment 12/18/2021, I was told the repair would take approximately three hours. Before the appointment a received a text from the location asking how I wanted to be updated about the status of the repair. The link provided also had a status section listing the stages of the repair and indicated it would be updated as the work progressed. I received no electronic or text updates. At 5:10 pm after closing time, I received a call that the repair was finished and I could pick up the car. I told the tech where I was coming from and he could not guarantee they would stay the time it would take to get there. The business is closed on Sundays so I was without the vehicle until Monday morning. If the status had been updated or a call made earlier to tell me the status of the repair, this could have been avoided. They do good work but the communication with customers needs improvement.ServicesAuto windshield replacement

We made an appointment online with Safelite for a windshield replacement at the Bethesda, MD location. Making a change to the said appointment online was impossible, even though Safelite encourages you to make any change online. Every time we tried to call the store, the call was rerouted to some central location, and the prompts would not provide an option to talk to an agent. After getting disconnected multiple times, I finally had to choose the option for "getting a quote", to get a hold of a live person, who did not have up to date information. We had a 9:00 am appointment. The many texts and email messages you receive prior to your appointment, want you to arrive 10 minutes early, which we did. We were told it would take 2-1/2 to 3 hours for the windshield replacement and re-calibration. At 11:03 am, we received a text stating that "The replacement service on your vehicle has started." Why did I have to come in one and half hours early? We made our way back to the shop and got there at 11:45 am. As we inquired about the status, a young and pleasant technician (Devin) told us that he's working on it and will be done in 15 minutes. At this point, we noticed that the old windshield had been removed, but seemingly nothing else was in place. We went for another walk around the block and then received a call at 12:23 pm that the car was ready. The windshield looks good, the cameras seem to be working properly so far. Except for the technician, Devin, who worked on our car and was friendly, I am NOT impressed with Safelite, especially in terms of communication.

The online communication (e.g., website, text, email — reminders ; what to do before and after; and video on what to expect) with Safelite was comprehensible before and after the service. The tech who welcomed me to the site was very kind (in my 10+ years living in the area - one of the most earnest service employees I’ve encountered). My appointment commenced as scheduled and they greeted me by name. He also promptly called me when the job was almost finished so I’d have enough time to return as it was done. I was hesitant by the other reviews but my experience was a five star in costumer service, service, and efficiency. The windshield looks great. I’ll have to clean my car now but that’s to be expected after such a job as replacing the windshield… I’m grateful my insurance company recommended that I bring my vehicle here. Thanks again for your extended kindness and efficiency!

Terrible and unprofessional service. Find any other safelite. In January my windshield broke. I scheduled an appointment. After I got to my appointment and dropped my car off 3 hours later they told me that the windshield that they were going to replace it with was cracked and I had to go back to Bethesda, which is not easy when you don't have a car, and pick my car back up. It took them 3+ weeks to get a replacement. While they were replacing my windshield they broke the casing to my rearview mirror. I had to schedule an additional appointment to replace the casing that they broke. My appointment was at 8 am, I called to see if they had the part for my rearview mirror, but couldn't contact them until 8 am, and to save my time and gas and not show up to safelite and for them to turn me away because they do not have the part, which is something that this horrible safelite would do, the person on the other line said I had to make it there by 8:15 am or they'll reschedule my appointment. I am already upset because they are the ones who broke my rearview mirror casing in the first place and she was short with me, I said I couldn't make it by 8:15 am and she hung up on me without telling my if they have the part. Update she also hung up on my dad when he called without telling him if they have the part.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

My experience with Safelite Auto Glass in Bethesda was beyond infuriating. Despite arriving an hour early for my 9am appointment, the staff didn't even start working on my car until 10:30 because, conveniently, an employee had called out. This was not mentioned to me until i came back to check on the status 2.5 hours later. When I finally got my car back, it was handed over to me by employees who were too engrossed in their personal chat about expense submissions to even acknowledge my presence. To top it off, when I dared to ask for compensation for the colossal inconvenience, I was met with a dismissive "we don't really do that." Not only was the service ridiculously delayed, but the staff also couldn't care less about their customers' time or satisfaction. The techs who worked on my car handed my keys to the employees who were having a private conversation! Once their 15-20 minute conversation was over, then i was checked out. That's just adding insult to injury. Safelite Auto Glass Bethesda, you've lost my trust and my business. Consider this a warning to anyone expecting even a modicum of professionalism from this establishment.
