I needed to have my '22 Volvo XC60 windshield replaced. Here's how it went over the course of three visits. Visit 1: I took a half day off from work and arrived at my SafeLite appointment five minutes early. After checking in, it was determined that the new windshield was cracked upon arrival. No worries, I'll reschedule. Stuff happens, and I'm happy they caught the minor crack prior to installation. Visit 2: I took another half day off from work, and arrive at my appointment 5 minutes early. I get checked in, and get a rideshare home as this will take 3 hours. I receive a call 1 hour later that not only did the new, unbroken windshield not arrive yet, but they mistakenly installed the broken one that was still on site. I uber back to pick up the car, with a different broken windshield installed. I am assured that I will be reimbursed for all rideshare expenses at this point when all of this wraps up. I reschedule another visit to have another new windshield installed. Visit 3: I took another half day off from work, and arrive at my appointment 30 minutes early. I get checked in, and take a rideshare home to wait. The windshield is replaced successfully, so I get another rideshare back and pick up the car. They could not reimburse me for my troubles on the spot, and told me they will escalate. It's been three days, haven't heard anything, and I can't get a hold of them on the phone. I've taken three half-days off work, and am $60 in to taxi services with blatant lies about reimbursement. I would stay as far as possible from this place with your vehicle - it is unorganized and they don't care about their customers.

Stopped in to get my windshield fixed - it had an L-shaped 6-to-8 inch crack in the corner. They told me the windshield needed to be replaced, which I figured would be the case, but it was worth a shot. They encouraged me to go through insurance, which covers the replacement and schedules the appt. Followed their advice and the process was seamless. Stopped by the next week at 8am for my replacement. Dropped off the van, walked down the street to get breakfast at the local diner. I had the pancakes, bacon and eggs over easy. Too much bacon on the plate but I ate it all anyway because, bacon. Got some work done on my laptop and by 10am, the van was ready to be picked up. Great service, solid advice from the staff, and I even made my pointless 10:30am meeting that morning.

Never going to any Safelite again. I scheduled at this place after a previous Safelite told me not to attempt to fix a rock chip, only for it to turn into a 1-foot crack 4 days later. The technician at the Arlington location cracked the touch screen on my Tesla without even noticing. He asked me why the touch screen wasn't working and I SHOWED HIM the crack in the screen! The earliest I could schedule a screen replacement is 8 days from now, so until then, my car is navigating me to random locations, giving me bad verbal instructions I can't mute, and randomly disabling the repeater cameras while I'm trying to change lanes. The music and bluetooth are also totally disabled. Safelite offered to pay for the full replacement, but this is an extreme inconvenience and irritation for operating my car. I'm relieved the car is even driveable after they finished with it. The tech also left dirty finger marks in my interior A pillar for good measure.

The level of incompetence and lack of communication would be impressive if it weren't so frustrating. Since December of 2024 (review today is late May 2025) I have been trying to get a window fixed in my SUV. I understand they are having trouble finding one, fine, but the lack of communication is crazy. For months I wait, then call up, they let me know it will be in soon, then another month goes by and the same process. Finally, I think I have someone on the phone (which is a pain to get ahold of someone) and after twenty minutes of waiting and trying to work on this, they transfer me to a new person who has no idea why I was transferred to them. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your auto glass replacements.

The local guys at the Arlington shop couldn't have been better. When I dropped my car off, they were clear about how much time they needed. They also gave me a card with their LOCAL number in case I needed to check on anything. The guy warned me that Safelite does not publish local numbers so I should not lose it. This came in very helpful later when I had something come up and needed to delay my pick up. One other thing. Safelite administers windshield replacement for my insurance company. My vehicle has an upgraded Gorilla Glass windshield. I had read on forums hassles people had had getting their GG windshield replaced with a like piece of glass. It was no trouble for me. They installed a new OEM GG windshield for me without me having to push at all. All around, a smooth and hassle free experience.

Choose someone else. Seriously. Terrible customer service, scammy price gouging. Last week week, we noticed a back window on our car was broken. Called Safelite. They asked questions, we gave details (and took notes), they gave us a quote and said they'd come out today to fix it. All good. Today comes. An hour before someone is supposed to come fix our window, they call and ask us which part of the window is broken. We tell them; they say the notes they took during our first call were unclear and that they ordered the wrong part. They'll need to reschedule. Annoying, but fine, it happens. Then, without talking to us, they cancel our appointment and reschedule a new one at a random date and double the price. When we call and ask what’s going on, the man at the front desk replies, "It's not that serious." Dude, what?? We went back and forth, but, despite admitting the mistake was theirs, Safelite refused honor the original price they quoted us or try to work with us in any way. We canceled and will never use this company again.
