*UPDATE COMING SOON* Worst customer service experience w/ any industry. -Vehicle was left w/ trash & glass pieces inside the car & all around the car, including sticky black liquid glue - Electrical pieces (from somewhere...) were left on dashboard - components left hanging, disconnected, & broken from inside windshield (car was working perfectly just 15 minutes prior to the service) Upon receiving my keys after the installation, When I turned car on: - passenger window was down - turn signal was blinking - highbeam lights were on - engine made a rumble - battery light came on & remained on - AC stopped working Contacted manager, Dave (Armenia Ave location) to correct/assess whatever was done to my car. Upon his arrival (conversation I was recording on my phone) I started by showing all the trash everywhere for which he blew off & just picked up & threw any trash out the doors, & stated 'not big deal, it was a new technician, what other issues are there'. Proceeded to show electrical pieces on dashboard, for which response was 'that's not from us, idk what that's from', as if I just drive everyday w electrical pieces & fuses loosely sitting on my dash. Proceeded to show electrical components hanging from window & broken & leaking black liquid, for which liquid black substance messed up his hands for which he needed to wipe off. 'that's nothing, just a humidifier sensor, he said Manager Dave continues on 'the battery light that has nothing to do with us, you're battery is prob dead' (is a brand new battery). I opened hood to show new battery. Manager Dave proceeded to point out any & every wire inside my engine (including harmless wires that connect the car horn) claiming 'wires that's probably the issue', as if he felt & treated me like he were talking to a complete moron' Next, as manager Dave continued ignoring every single issue I pointed out, 'well it's your alternator & that has nothing to do with us....' etc So mysteriously my alternator is now suddenly bad, when 2 hrs prior my car was running perfectly with 0 issues. And safelites pisspoor service & sry excuse for a so-called manager is 'apparently' not responsible for anything. Not knowing if the car is safe to drive, it's since been towed to a dealership to be looked at next week. I'll be without it for the time being. Thank you manager Dave. I'll be contacting the regional office all day, every day until I find someone to help. The $ of now having to fix my car aside, I might have dropped the entire horrible ordeal & just moved on had a competent manager simply admitted that the installation was not up to their standards at all, not throw all the trash/debree/glass left in my car into my yard, & received an apology. But the exact opposite happened. The Happy safelite commercials shown on TV resemble absolutely nothing with their actual service, or at least this branch. I hope sharing my terrible experience helps others avoid going through the same mess.

July 24 Todd came out to replace windshield in my Ford Transit Connect. After setting the glass in the resin he was pushing to make sure glass was set and shattered the new windscreen lower left quadrant. He left the tape that he used to help position the glass on the vehicle. A week later a second technician came out to replace the windscreen a second time. I mentioned I was not able to remove the tape and he informed me it was not supposed to be left on for any extended period of time. When he tried to remove it the paint in two areas came with it. There is tape residue missing paint and adhesive residue left on the vehicle. I was told somebody from corporate would be reaching out to me about the damage to the vehicle by the second technician. I have called progressive and the Safelite customer care number several times now with no response. If you value your vehicle and your time do not do business with this company. I trusted Progressive's recommendation I won't make the same mistake again.NegativeQuality, ProfessionalismServicesAuto windshield replacement

Today, after an unsatisfactory experience at another Safelite location(9017 E Adamo Dr #122, Tampa, FL 33619 - more on that available in a separate review for that location), I headed out and met AJ the technician at the front desk of this Safelite location(4214 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33607). As another review similarly mentions, AJ is very professional, customer-friendly, courteous, prompt and talented. I visited this location this day needing a window wrap adhesive film to temporarily cover the shattered and missing glass side panel near the taillight of my minivan. Additionally, I required vacuuming of the numerous glass shards in the rear bed of the vehicle—both of which were recommended by Safelite’s national customer service as my scheduled glass installation with Safelite is more than a week away. AJ without hesitation promptly and professionally installed the adhesive wrap nice, tight and flush, taped and secured it that it never came off during the return journey home making it safe from debris, wind and rain. AJ has earned my trust. He also vaccumed all the hazardous glass shards in the area near the missing side glass panel in the rear bed of my minivan. I'm very pleased with his excellent service and what a difference it has made. Today's top notch service provided to me made me decide to take my business to this location for installing the new glass for me in my upcoming appointment even though it's a bit of a drive for me. Update : AJ at the front desk and his crew of wonderful technicians (at 4214 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33607) installed the new glass meticulously and it functions as it should mechanically. Thank you very much for the great service provided. Posted an updated photo of the brand new glass after the fix.

I have a BMW with the heads up display. They replaced my windshield in 2021 and installed the wrong windshield. It was a huge inconvenience. If someone would have just sat in the car and looked they would have instantly seen they installed the wrong one. Well fast forward to 1/29/25. I have the same vehicle. When I arrived the first thing I wanted to verify was they had the correct windshield. Gentleman checked and said yes. I let him know what happened previously in 2021. I had an appointment at 3pm which I arrived on time but still had to wait 2 hours they were running behind. They let me know my vehicle was ready I leave get in to my car and sure enough they installed the wrong windshield. The same problem 3 years later. Poor quality control, lack of training, no checks and balances in place. If someone would have just sat in the car they would have seen the obvious. So now I'm inconvenienced again. They gave me the option of someone coming to my home but I do not want to sit at my home on my day off waiting in a 4 hour window and they cannot go to by job because there is no room to do the work. I opted to bring my car back to their location which is a week later for them to replace. Poor service I would never recommend taking your vehicle to this location.

I think anyone who knows me knows how much I dislike (and honestly try to avoid at all costs) confrontation. I do my best to be respectful and not air personal frustrations online. But after what just happened with Safelite… buckle up. On Monday, July 14, I had a side window replaced at my home by a Safelite technician named Lonny Strickland. What should have been a routine appointment quickly spiraled into a stressful, expensive ordeal due to pure negligence. During the service, Lonny drained my car battery—something that can happen, sure. But in trying to jump the car, he repeatedly revved both vehicles aggressively, even after my boyfriend asked him to stop. It was obvious his method wasn’t working, but he kept going. Eventually, he called a supervisor to come out. The supervisor showed up and, within seconds, pointed out that the jumper cables had been attached incorrectly—a basic but critical mistake. While the supervisor was able to get the car started properly, the damage had already been done. My alternator was ruined, and now my car is no longer safely drivable. Safelite is refusing to take any responsibility for the damage their technician caused—even though their own supervisor confirmed the mistake. Let me break it down: • Their technician mishandled basic equipment. • Their own supervisor acknowledged the error. • I’m now stuck with a repair bill that only exists because their employee didn’t know what he was doing. To make matters worse, I had an appointment at the Armenia location this past Saturday, where we spoke with the on-site supervisor, Hector Martinez. During that visit, it was confirmed that my car didn’t just have a dead battery—it had a damaged alternator. Hector was kind and professional, but told us he couldn’t make the final call on whether Safelite would cover the cost. He said he’d escalate the issue and that I’d receive a follow-up call on Monday. That call came today—from Dave, the manager of both the Thonotosassa and Armenia locations—and it was beyond disappointing. Dave was blatantly disrespectful, interrupted both me and my boyfriend multiple times, and implied we were lying. He made me feel like just another “dumb girl” trying to scam the company for money. I ended that call feeling humiliated, angry, and disrespected. This isn’t just about a broken car—it’s about a company that refuses to stand behind their work and a manager who talks down to customers instead of listening to them. If you’re considering using Safelite, I cannot urge you strongly enough: go somewhere else. There are other companies that know how to treat people—and their vehicles—with care and professionalism. Avoid Safelite at all costs.ServicesAuto side window replacement

The repair itself was fine; however I had an appointment for 9:00AM (they also couldn’t find my appointment paperwork despite me having received numerous text messages confirming the appointment) and did not receive a call until 4:40PM that they needed to keep my car overnight because they had a busy day and weren’t able to get it finished. I called the next morning and was told I would be made aware of the progress throughout the day. It wasn’t until after 5:00PM and me initiating the call that they told me it was ready about 20 minutes before I called. This occurred between a Friday and Saturday when it was incredibly inconvenient to be without a car. I also tried calling customer service for updates and after following the prompts to speak with someone I was told by the prompts to go to the website and was then hung up on. Customer service is certainly not a specialty of Safelite and I will seek other options if I need to replace a windshield again.
