Elmer Auto Glass

Elmer was someone that I was recommended by a family memeber. I usually don’t leave reviews but my experience with him has been great. I drive a Subaru WRX. Elmer is very professional and he will take his time to fix your car. You can’t go wrong. He has a lot more of experience doing this and well let’s just say if I ever need to do this again he will definitely be the one I will be calling.

I rarely leave reviews but I had to share the experience I had. My car was broken into, the driver window shattered. I found Elmer on google and chose his services based on the good reviews. I called at 8am on a Monday morning. He answered right away and asked exactly what I needed done, the make/model of the car, etc. He said he would give me a call back and did within the next 5 minutes, confirming he had the parts and would be available from 12-1 the same day. He then sent a confirmation text and asked for my address. I was surprised and a bit skeptical he was doing house calls but I took the chance anyway. Elmer and his son arrived 22 minutes early and went straight to work. They were done within the hour. They vacuumed all the shattered glass among other debris in the car. When he called to tell me he was done, I saw him wiping down my monitor and other surfaces in the car. (I was planning to get an interior detail afterward but changed my mind when he was done). Elmer demonstrated how the doors operated perfectly. He even used a window that was manufactured from the same company as my windshield. He provided me with a receipt and was extremely pleasant. His service was so wonderful I asked if he does other car related work/repairs. Although he only fixes glass, he sent me some recommendations of his colleagues. And while I hope I don’t need him in the future, I’m glad I now have a reliable person/company to call on. Thank you so much Elmer for making this experience stress-free. I would 1000% recommend Elmer for auto glass repair.

Elmer did an amazing job fixing my window! He was super professional, came directly to me, and had everything fixed within 40 minutes. He kept great communication throughout the entire process and was always available to answer any questions I had. I really appreciated how smooth and easy he made everything. The car wash top brush made a small “hairline” crack in my windshield over a year ago in California and over time it got bigger and bigger until the crack went down the whole passenger side of the windshield. I moved here to VA and needed it fixed to get my vehicle safety inspection sticker. I called a few spots with averages of around $350-400. I was upset because in California I got a quote for $180 but they had a waitlist and I didn’t do it and regretted not being patient. So I found Elmer from here Google and called him and he said $240. No backlog, he came to me within an hour, had the cheapest price from anyone in Arlington and was done in about half hour. No dropping my car off, no inconvenience I simply unlocked my car and could see him doing the work the whole time quick and easy not rushing just professional. Easy Zelle payment on the spot. Father and son company that makes me want to pay more if I could just to support. Highly recommend and wish him and his business and his family all but success. Thank you Elmer!

I was completely devastate when my windshield shattered but super lucky when I contacted Elmer & his team, he was super efficient and his price was super reasonable!!! Hopefully I won’t be needing his services again but if and when I do will def be calling him!! He came to my home, took no more than 1 hour and changed out my windshield!!! Great, clean & efficient work !!

I had a really bad crack in my brand new windshield that was growing by the hour due to the weather. Elmer was really responsive and quick to help. Offered me an estimate of $465 for replacing the windshield and recalibrating the car. When he and his son showed up, both were professional. Elmer was warm and straight forward. He got right to work, but then showed me the invoice and it was higher than the agreed upon amount. It went from $465 to $485 with no explanation. We also had agreed to do the calibration because my car requires it. However, when he arrived and I asked about the calibration, he showed me why it doesn't need it. This was strange to me, because I had been at the dealership a few hours before and they mentioned over and over how important it would be for the car, which only is 32 days old; I brought it brand new 2024. Elmer assured me the calibration would be fine, and showed me why he doesn't need to recalibrate the system after installing. I was skeptical and asked if there would be any issues with the calibration, would he cover me under his warranty. He said yes yes yes yes and continued working. I asked if he would put that down in writing on the invoice. I was really worried about it effecting the calibration on the car, specifically because the safety features of the new car would not work if the calibration was incorrect or even slightly off. He barked that he's done 1,500 windshield replacements and has never once had an issue with recalibration. He assured me that PGM glass would be pre-calibrated. He also noted down he would cover me if I needed calibration on the invoice, but wasn't happy about it. He finished up the work in about 30mins, which was awesome! Very timely and efficient. There were a few messy marks and he got right to cleaning and tidying them up. However, he did NOT clean the new windshield glass, and there are smudges and tiny scratches, that I noticed the next day in the morning as I was driving to work and was truly surprised at how dirty it was. I will definitely have to have it professionally cleaned. I was concerned about the calibration, and I was right to be. My auto-brake system either doesn't work or comes on too late. My lane departure safety system is also as random. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I noticed the difference immediately. I've never had an issue with my 32 day old brand new car's safety features and lane departure systems until the windshield was replaced. I could be paranoid, but I will be following up with my dealership (and definitely will update my review). For just replacing the windshield, Elmer was 100% 5 stars. However, his hesitation to fulfill my needs as the paying customer concerns me. Especially because this car is not even 2 months old and has been kept in pristine condition from the dealership floor. Also the price change for no reason or upfront concerns was confusing. If Elmer was JUST replacing the windshield, he would be getting 5 stars. His handiwork was great and really efficient. He was a nice man, and his son was very helpful to him. But with these minor concerns and pricing changes, I am a little hesitant to recommend for any new or high-end cars. I will definitely be contacting him after the dealership re-evaluates the calibration of the new windshield.
